Daily Developer Diary - Part 1
Daily Developer Diary for Do No Harm - Part 1
This first update is a bit longer than usual as I’ll outline not only today’s progress but also the broader state of development. Starting tomorrow, updates will be much more concise. We are currently focused on two main areas:
Demo and New Gameplay Trailer
For the Demo, we came up with a new Anomalies and Sanity system that we are implementing. We believe it will give more purpose to the player, and intensify the atmosphere of the game. This system will immerse players in the role of a lonely doctor grappling with eerie horrors on an isolated island. While this enhancement extends the timeline for the demo’s completion, it adds meaningful purpose to gameplay. In the meantime, we’ve introduced several quality-of-life improvements:

New Tutorial: Covering the Humor Circle and Physical Symptoms mechanics.
Pacing Adjustments: Tweaks to ease the steep difficulty spike between days 1 and 2, and make progression into later days more smooth.
Extended Gameplay: Seven days of gameplay are now included.
These updates will be shared with the community first, with public access planned for next week. The full demo is expected to be publicly available in about a month.
As for the New Gameplay Trailer
The current trailer doesn’t effectively convey the story, so we’re creating a new one. To help achieve this, we’ve brought on an experienced Art Director from the film industry. Their insights will enhance the game’s visual quality and storytelling. Hopefully, I'll be able to showcase this difference soon. The new trailer will focus on the doctor’s challenges in the village: managing an already difficult medical practice that becomes increasingly horrifying with the emergence of unexplainable creatures and diseases. The narrative will explore themes of resilience, sanity, and the struggle to uphold the principle of Do No Harm in the face of unimaginable horrors. Tomorrow, I’ll share details about specific improvements to the Stethoscope tool’s visuals. Stay tuned, and thank you for being part of this journey! Love you guys for all of your support!
