Community Event Puzzle Solved!!!

Kill It With Fire

Kill It With Fire is a first-person action game about hunting spiders and causing collateral damage.

Excellent job, exterminators! It took you fewer than four hours to solve the puzzle. Frankly, I was shocked; I expected it to take all weekend - maybe even longer. It’s difficult to know exactly how many players participated (the Discord chat was going so fast I could barely read it!) but I’d estimate at least 100, possibly twice that number. There are a couple exterminators in particular that deserve special recognition. First, LilithGalac created an amazing spreadsheet. This was pivotal for tracking all of the clues submitted by other players. Without her quick thinking and even quicker organizing, I suspect the puzzle would have taken much, much longer to solve. Also, let’s give a shout out to CremLeBote for being the first to actually solve the puzzle and claim the prize. He was able to “brute force” the answer once about 95% of the clues had been submitted - smart! LilithGalac and CremLeBote will each receive a game of their choice from TinyBuild’s catalog along with some KIWF merch. Here’s a screenshot of the answer. Once again, great job, everyone!!! Nothing less than the most powerful spider killing weapon ever created: the shoe. Of course, this is no ordinary shoe - its sole absorbs the souls of the spiders it squishes, becoming ever more deadly. It starts off weak, but if you take it to max power, you’ll be able to wreak havoc. On Thursday, August 26th I’ll be patching the game to remove the “community” aspect of the puzzle. At that point, everyone’s game will get their own unique code, allowing exterminators to solve the mystery on their own. In addition to addressing a few minor issues, I’ve heard scattered reports of players losing their save files after crashes. Until I track down the issue, I’d like to give you a way to access a “fully unlocked” save if yours does become corrupted somehow. Stay tuned for instructions when the patch drops on the 26th. Until then, if you do experience a crash I’d love to see your crash log. Go to C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local/Kani/Saved/Logs/, zip up all of the .log files, and email them to contact@caseydonnellangames.com. Without information, it’s really hard to fix stuff, so every log that I receive helps! Did you like the event? Do you want to see more in the future?
