Chronicles of Rodovia #7 - Economy Buildings ๐Ÿ”จ

Crown of Greed

Forget about direct orders you know from other games of the genre. Master an unusual, indirect management system in which you must skillfully bend your subjects and heroes to your will. Claim the throne of Rodovia, build cities, recruit troops, expand your kingdom and exploit the power of a coin.
Greetings, your Grace! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Welcome to the Chronicles of Rodovia - a series designed to prepare you for ascension to the throne! ๐Ÿ“– Thanks to the following entries, you will learn how to manage your kingdom and your subjects, make crucial, even fateful decisions, and safeguard your reign from premature demise. In each subsequent post, we will take a closer look at a different gameplay element and explain the basic mechanics that govern the world of Crown of Greed, so be sure to follow them carefully. Today we will look at 4 buildings that are among the economic pillars of your kingdom. This means that one of your tasks will be to make them appear in your realm as quickly as possible. After all, we don't want us to miss out on important opportunities and... gold coins ๐Ÿค‘ due to their absence, do we, your Grace? As you know, most things in Crown of Greed revolve around cash, and its constant inflow is one of the conditions for your success. Fortunately, there are several ways to fill your treasury and gain some very interesting options of development at the same time. And This is where Blacksmith, Alchemist's Shop, Marketplace and Trading Post come to the rescue! ๐Ÿ˜
Blacksmith ๐Ÿ”จ

A powerful weapon that strikes terror into the hearts of your opponents? Impenetrable armor providing great protection? Or maybe another great item that will increase your chances on the battlefield? Blacksmith has them all! You can think of a Blacksmith as of an extremely important workshop where your heroes can spend their hard-earned money to improve their equipment. Thanks to a wide selection of weapons, they will be able to deal more damage, and thanks to varied armor, they will be able to better protect themselves from injuries. What's more, the building can be upgraded, offering even more powerful items! โš”๏ธ The Blacksmith becomes increasingly important, particularly in the later stages of the game, when heroes' missions grow significantly more challenging and perilous compared to the early game. However, the earnings coming from the heroes' pockets are not everything. This workshop also generates passive income and is regularly visited by your tax collector. As you can see, Blacksmith is a real goldmine!
Alchemist's Shop ๐Ÿต

This building will become available in your city during a later phase of the game, as it necessitates an upgraded Castle to be built. Just as a Blacksmith, Alchemist's Shop also generates passive income for your kingdom, being a stable source of your income. However, this is where the similarities end... The Alchemist's Shop is the workplace of witches who have perfected the art of preparing potions and elixirs ๐Ÿ”ฎ Once you develop the right technology, they will be able to prepare really powerful blends, which will significantly increase the capabilities of your heroes. Such potions can not only heal their wounds, but also increase strength, endurance and other features necessary in the adventurer's craft. Unlike weapons and armor, potions are consumable goods that need to be replenished regularly... which is good news! The more heroes visit your Alchemist's Shop, the more cash they will leave behind. Be sure to upgrade this building as you progress through the game to meet the needs of your hired adventurers!
Marketplace โš–๏ธ

Marketplace is quite a unique building... but still shares some features with the previous two. Similar to the Blacksmith and Alchemist's Shop, this place offers heroes a range of items to buy, including magical artifacts (such as rings or trinkets) and consumable goods. Moreover, adventurers can also sell unnecessary items from their stash here. Making a long story short, Marketplace is a place where you can buy and sell all kinds of wares and merchandise! But that's not all. At the beginning, when the Marketplace is still a modest, unimproved building ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ it will only offer the most basic items. Over time, when you meet the appropriate requirements, you will be able to upgrade it and increase its product range. By unlocking new technologies, truly powerful items will appear on the Marketplace shelves, making heroes visiting your city eager to see and buy them! In addition to generating passive income and drawing the tax collector, the Marketplace has another important role: it is a hub for visiting trade caravans. Caravans are responsible for transporting gold and other resources in the Kingdom from one predetermined point to another... but that's a story for another day.
Trading Post ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Only rulers who have already built a Marketplace can establish a Trading Post, and these can only be built in remote, designated locations. Therefore, they force you to occupy distant, unexplored areas. The further away you establish a Trading Post, the more gold it will bring into your treasury... and the more vulnerable it will be to attacks! ๐Ÿ’€ The Trading Post itself does not passively generate gold, but it does periodically generate caravans that are heading to your city. Without going into too much detail, as we will talk about caravans in a separate post, when such a trade expedition reaches its destination, you will earn a certain amount of cash. The higher the tier of a Trading Post, the better and more frequent caravans it generates. Moreover, thanks to such an upgrade, the building can start defending itself against enemy attacks. While this is for sure a useful feature, it's rare for a Trading Post to be able to defend itself... but after all, that's what it has you for - the King, protector of the realm!
Thank you, your Majesty!

We trust that the sixth installment of the Chronicles of Rodovia series has sparked your eagerness to seize the throne and guide your kingdom to prosperity and glory! You can be sure that we will soon publish more interesting information and news about the game, just like the next parts of our Chronicles ๐Ÿ˜ Stay hyped, stay tuned, and add Crown of Greed to your Steam wishlist. Thank you, Rulers!
