Build 2399 Live

Starlight: Defence Command

Take the role of a Defence Commander and protect UPF assets remotely through the use of your Adaptable Nano Tablet in this immersive, PC focused Tower Defence Game. It's designed to be a tough but rewarding experience with character progression and the ability to configure towers to your own liking.

This latest update has been focused on improving the new player experience with a bunch of changes designed to ease players into how the game works. This includes a new tutorial and quick start guide for those that really just want the bare minimum before they start playing. This also includes a new introduction when you sign into the game. This will run for everyone the first time, old players and new. On top of that, to get players into the core game quicker, new players will only have access to the assignments tab to begin with. As assignments are completed, more of the options will be opened up. As a result of these changes the first few levels have been edited slightly, as has the dialogue. Features

There's now an introduction that offers players the quick start or tutorial when the game is accessed for the first time. This can also be skipped should you want to.
Brand new tutorial designed to give players the freedom to explore the game at their own pace.
Brand new Quick Start guide designed to give quick and concise information about how to play the game. This really does just scratch the surface.
Updates

Academy home page has been updated to now include access to the Tutorial or Quick Start Guide should you want to access it at a later date.
Players now only have access to the Assignments, Academy and Configuration apps from the beginning of the game. Messages are unlocked after the first assignment, Career after the second, Blueprints after the third and Simulator after the fourth.
Players now only start with the 6 ground based default towers at the beginning of the game. Slots 7 and 8 are opened up for the 3rd assignment and include the AA towers by default. Please note, that once they are unlocked you can replay the original levels with the slots now available.
The speed of the enemy bots no longer grow with the Alert Level; this was unintended. All other stats still grow as they should.
The early missions now have VT's like the later missions do. This is to focus the player to the core story with the Messages App there to provide extra world building.
AIDAs menu when on assignment now says 'End Simulation' for the tutorial and and 'Endless' Simulations, rather than 'Surrender'. This is then considered a Success in these scenarios.
Large Mode renamed to TV Mode as this is what it's really designed for.
