Beta v15.4: Balancing the late game...

Puffin Planes

A casual airline management game set on Earth and Mars. Supports singleplayer and Steam co-op.

We are just a few weeks from release now. Hoping to try and balance the late game, with minimal effects on the early game. So I turned inflation from an exponent into a quadratic, and this should hopefully be a lot less punishing and make inflation seem less ridiculous. This should have minimal effect on early- and mid-game saves (i.e. before around quarter 25-ish). It will have a large effect on late-game saves though so you will in effect be entering Creative mode for those. Sorry! But hopefully the new changes will make any fresh playthroughs more enjoyable in late-game. Beta v15.4 Changes: - Well Served Routes, Unlock Cities and Upgrade Infrastructure quarter goal now have a minimum amount of additions you must accomplish. This is to make it more interesting than sometimes having a new quarter goal which you immediately exceed. - Updated algorithm for commoditization of air travel. You will now make full money from passengers early on, and the decline will happen rapidly after Q10 until you reach a lower baseline of around 30%. - Slight boost to the profitability of shorter flights. - Overhauled inflation to be less miserable in late-game. - Lowered most plane prices. Bugfixes: - Fixed bug where you would sometimes get a mission to unlock an impossibly far away region in the early game. Beta v15.3 Changes: - The money texts that pop up when your planes land are now pooled. That is, we now reuse old ones rather than constantly destroying them and creating new ones. This fixes a late game performance issue for some players. Bugfixes: - Fixed one of the causes for a bug where plane crashes would sometimes lead to the game crashing.
