1st Pet Capture Battle Royale!

Welcome to our 'Hi, Buddy!' Expansion Q&A! We know you're excited about all the new features and changes in this major expansion. After watching the official announcement video, you might have a few questions about what's new and how to make the most of these exciting additions. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! In this article, we’ll answer some questions you might have to help you get up to speed for the version coming on September 12. Let's dive in. 1. Can I reuse a Buddy, like Squeaky, multiple times in the same match? What about powerful Buddies like the Time Dominator? The same Buddy cannot be released more than once within a match. Each Buddy can only use their skill one time. However, you'll start each game with a reusable Buddy Orb, which you can use multiple times to catch different Buddies. You'll also find single-use Buddy Orbs in supplies to help you catch more Buddies throughout the match. 2. Can I build up structures with Tactical Facilities? Say, a small stronghold in the open field. To keep the game balanced, Tactical Facilities can't be stacked vertically, so you won't be able to create structures by building one upon another. However, you can place them side by side horizontally for some new tactics. For example, you could use them to block building entrances, creating a fully enclosed space to trap enemies or catch them off guard. 3. The update added more landmarks in Sunder Realms. Can we climb up and explore these, like the giant Ducksyde? These new landmarks are so high they're inaccessible on the map. Instead, they provide unique visuals to each point of interest. They make it easier to identify landing targets during the parachuting phase, serving as landmarks for navigating the map. To leverage the updated map, you'll also find new multi-level areas that feature more Ziplines. For example, at the Refinery, you can use Ziplines to reach higher platforms—perfect for gaining the upper hand in a fight. All your skins will be matched on a one-to-one basis, each corresponding to the previous weapon design. The weapons' original special effects will also be preserved. A ton of effort and resources was put into recreating each weapon and skin, because we know they mean the world to you. You can find the comparison between the new and old guns in the full update announcement coming soon. 5. Is there a time limit for holding breath when using a sniper rifle? What happens if I exceed it? Yes, there’s a limit to how long your character can hold their breath while aiming with a sniper rifle. If you exceed this limit, your character will start to breathe heavily, which will cause the scope to sway significantly. To avoid this, make sure to line up your shot quickly and take it before the breathing effect kicks in, or you could miss your target. 6. Does the breath-hold feature apply to both Sniper Rifles and DMR? Yes, the breath-hold feature applies to both sniper rifles and designated marksman rifles (DMRs). In the latest update, we’ve also optimized the Aim Down Sights (ADS) mechanics for a more realistic experience, particularly with sniper rifles. The added breathing sway effect makes aiming more challenging, so remember to use breath-hold to reduce sway and improve your accuracy. 7. What are the differences between full-auto and semi-auto modes for assault rifles, and when should I use each? The primary difference between full-auto and semi-auto modes is how the weapon fires: full-auto mode allows for continuous firing while holding down the trigger, whereas semi-auto mode fires a single shot with each trigger pull. This feature lets you switch between firing modes to adapt to different combat situations. In mid-to-long-range engagements where accuracy is important, using semi-auto mode can help control recoil and reduce bullet spread. In contrast, full-auto mode is more effective in close-quarters combat, where maximizing damage output is key. Mastering both modes will allow you to adapt quickly, but some players may prefer to use full-auto mode predominantly once they are comfortable managing its recoil. 8. Can I upgrade my Ultimate as soon as I have Trait points, or do I need to reach a certain level first? You can choose to upgrade your Ultimate once you have your first Trait point. However, any skill needs to be upgraded twice to unlock its full potential. Some tactical skills also gain extra effects at max level, which can be just as powerful as your ultimate. Since talent points are non-reversible, choose your upgrades wisely. Remember, you can earn up to 5 Trait points per match just by naturally progressing. To max out all skills, you'll need to loot the Trait Activation Card in high-level supply chests, Sponsor Boxes, and Airdrops. Are there other ways to level up? Each XP Device grants 600 XP, and you'll need 8,400 XP to reach the max level. Besides XP Devices, you can gain XP by getting kills, rescuing squadmates, and looting Tactical Cores from Loot Boxes. What’s the relationship between shield quality, Trait points, and levels? Here's a quick breakdown: - Level 1: White Shield, 25 Shield Value, 0 Talent Points (starting value) - Level 2: Green Shield, 50 Shield Value, 1 Talent Point - Level 3: Blue Shield, 75 Shield Value, 2 Talent Points - Level 4: Purple Shield, 100 Shield Value, 3 Talent Points - Level 5: Orange Shield, 125 Shield Value, 4 Talent Points - Level 6: Red Shield, 150 Shield Value, 5 Talent Points (max level) 11. How do I restore shields? After the update, you'll enter each match with a shield already equipped. Shields are now linked to your character level. When you level up, your shield will partially restore based on your current percentage (e.g., if you level up from 3 to 4 with a 50% shield, it becomes 50% of a Purple Shield). You can restore shields using Shield Rechargers, Shield Restorers, and by looting Tactical Cores. If you loot a core from an enemy at your level or below, your shield will fully restore. If the core is from a higher level, the excess becomes a temporary shield that lasts for 20 seconds. 12. This update introduced the Vulnerability mechanic for Beau Does it increase damage from all sources or just from the hero who applies it? Vulnerability effects only increase damage from the hero who applies them. So, if Beau applies Vulnerability to an enemy, only Beau can deal extra damage, while other damage types remain unaffected. In this version, Beau and Phantom are the only heroes that feature such an effect.
