Hey everyone, After a series of major updates earlier in August, we took a brief step back polish some of the new major additions and improvements. And so today, we're releasing a smaller update, version 0.40, which includes a number of fixes and improvements across the board. Some highlights include significant enhancements to lighting and graphics, particularly with a new setting for darker monitors. [b]NOTE[/b]: for optimal visuals - current players should open the Options menu, and make sure the V-Sync is On, and Extra Bloom is Off. [/b]We've also reworked the early game to make it more accessible for new players. With that said, let’s take a look at what our sixth update (v0.40) has in store: [list] [*] Improvements to RTS game light and fog effect [*] Fixed RTS game light being too bright and bloomy on most monitors [*] Added new Options Menu options - Extra Bloom, off by default [*] Extra Bloom makes the game a lot brighter on darker monitors [*] Campaign map light is also affected by Extra Bloom settings [*] V-Sync is now on by default [*] V-Sync and Extra Bloom options need to be turned on/off by current players [*] Major fix for cannons not attacking walls [*] Rebalanced starting campaign economy [*] New campaign starts with a lot more resources [*] New campaigns start with a lot more food making the very early game a lot easier [*] Economy research does not require food, but requires more other resources [*] Player starting army has 2 chickens and 2 horse carts now [*] Livestock and peasants generate more food per month [*] Spring Oak trees look the same as summer now - as previous version looked very bad [*] Personal time limit greatly expanded allowing players more time in the cities [*] All new campaigns now start with a lot more personal time [*] Personal time adds much faster monthly in early campaigns - to help players with managing towns in RTS mode [*] Personal time adds slower and slower each month as campaign progresses [*] Tutorial campaign now starts with maxed-out personal time of 15 minutes [*] Build the hamlet tutorial greatly improved with additional time [*] Fixed on-boarding window overlapping speed control in RTS tutorials [/list]
