Travel from Wien (Vienna) to St. Pölten with this scenic Austrian route from RSSLO.
Opened in December 1858 the ‘Old Western Railway’ is a vital and historic rail corridor in Austria. Electrified and double-tracked this connects the capital city of Vienna (Wien) to the picturesque city of St. Pölten in Lower Austria. The line covers around 65 km offering stunning views of Austrian countryside as it passes lush green valleys, rolling hills and charming villages. The route in Train Simulator features the high-speed section which you will drive aboard the ÖBB 1016.
Based on the Eurosprinter concept the ÖBB 1016 is part of the ‘Taurus’ family, developed as a universal electric locomotive modified with a quill drive to reduce track forces. A fast commuter this has a top speed of 230 km/h (140 mph). On this route you will use the loco for both passenger and freight services, across five new Career Scenarios. Quick Drive scenarios are also included on the route.
