It's not every day you come across a 'retro co-op horror card game' on Steam so let's break down exactly what that means! [i]DEMONS[/i] is heavily inspired by scary movies from the age of VHS tapes and cassette players - everything from the art, to the gameplay, to the soundtrack is designed to immerse you in the feel of those old films. [h2]Co-Op Horror[/h2] If you're reading this, then chances are that you've maybe already had some experience with the co-op horror genre. Perhaps you've played our sister title [i]DEVOUR[/i], or one of the many other games out there that have a team of friends working together to defeat a horrifying supernatural evil? In [i]DEMONS[/i] you'll select one of a terrifying array of demons to challenge in a game. Every demon has it's own unique ability to use against you, so be prepared to change up your strategies depending on who (or what!) you're facing. If you can destroy ten of the summoning altars found around the eerie farmhouse location that the game takes place in, then the demon you are challenging will be cast back to the void and you will have won the game. A simple objective, but fiendishly difficult to accomplish! [h2]Card Game[/h2] Card games can be complex and overwhelming. [i]DEMONS[/i] is not. There's no tricky deckbuilding or confusing rules to be found here. In fact, there's just a few dozen cards in the game - mastery of which will unlock the path to victory in your struggle against the demon! Every turn will present you with the opportunity of exploring one location at the sinister farmhouse in your search for altars to destroy. This introduces a strategic element as you try to work out which locations are safe to search and which are not. The prospect of encountering the demon card itself and being hit with a character knock-down accompanied by a fully animated jump scare fills each card flip during a search with edge of your seat tension!
