The Good Overlord

The Good Overlord is a roguelike autobattler bag-builder in which you’ll be playing as the Overlord. Instead of killing the Hero, your mission is to guide him until the end of your dungeon, where he’ll have to face you.

[h2][b]Big updates first:[/b] [/h2] [h3]MONSTER RARITY: [/h3] As we mentioned in previous versions, monsters were drawn randomly from the pool you selected at the HUB. Now, we’ve spiced things up. You might draw Rare and Legendary monsters from a special in-game pool. [h3]BOSS FIGHTS: [/h3] A huge thing that we Always wanted to change about the boss fights were how they worked, was pretty hard to understand how to make them more entertaining, but we think we reached a goal: We’ve completely revamped how boss fights work. It could either ruin or save you, [/i]Good luck! [h3]IMPROVED UI: [/h3] We took our old UI of the data window and threw it away, i mean, not litterally, we just changed some stuff. Monsters TAGs are color-coded, and you can view buffs and debuffs number directly on the window. [h3]LOADS OF BUGFIXING AND BALACING: [/h3] Before adding more content, we focused on fixing bugs and balancing the game to avoid a future pile-up (programmers ou there, we know you are proud of us). We fixed all major crashes, improved hero pathfinding, fixed collisions, and covered most possible combinations bugs so far. [h3]MAGIC? NAH THATS TOO OLD SCHOOL [/h3] We’ve decided to remove the magic room for now. The feedback was clear, and honestly, it didn’t fit well. We’ve replaced it with something else (might involve sacrifices… but who knows?). [h3]MONSTER CHOICE UI UPGRADE: [/h3] Tired of the old drawer system? [h2][b]SMALLER UPDATES:[/b] [/h2] [h3]Polish, polish, polish [/h3] You know by now how much Daniel and I love polishing the game. We did lots of stuff like that. We got you. [h3]Story??? [/h3] And now you’re probably thinking: "What? The game has a story?" Yes, it actually has pages upon pages of lore that we've been working on throughout the year, which we finally finished. While Daniel was busy bug-fixing everything, I started working on the art related to the lore that we completed last month with Iolanda, our narrative designer. Unfortunately, we can't share anything about it just yet ( :( ), but we are so hyped to show you guys. We honestly can’t wait to release the full game and hear your thoughts. [h3](WIP) NPC unlocking[/h3] We’ve added the first quest to unlock Ravenshadow! We won’t spoil anything, you’ll have to see for yourself. [h3](WIP) New relics, new monsters.[/h3] We’ve added a bit of new content while working on everything else. Not too much for now—we want to ensure the foundation is solid before adding more layers. [h2][b]AND NOW?[/b][/h2] We’re finalists in two competitions: [b]Redbull Indie Forge and the GWB Game Awards by Tencent[/b]. This won’t impact development since we're always working on the game, but it will add to our workload as we handle all the social media and related tasks. [b]Light a candle for us.
