The Official Name of Project ARC is Coming!
Naming a game is no easy task. Even picking a name for a character or a variable in coding takes some serious thought—so you can imagine how much effort went into choosing the official title that will define our game.
We explored dozens of potential names, debated endlessly, and considered every angle before landing on the one that truly fits. Before we reveal it, we wanted to share what mattered most in making this decision.
It had to reflect the gameplay.
From day one, gameplay has been our top priority. Our game delivers intense tactical action from a top-down perspective, where visibility, firing angles, and blind spots play a crucial role in CQB (Close Quarters Battle) strategies. We wanted a name that instantly captures the essence of this experience—something that feels sharp, precise, and tactical.
That meant a lot of great names—ones that leaned more into setting or lore—didn’t make the cut.
It had to be short and sweet.
A great name sticks. We considered complex names that packed in multiple meanings, but in the end, simplicity won. Instead of a long, abstract title, we went for something clear, punchy, and easy to remember.
It had to resonate globally.
Since this game is for players around the world, we leaned toward an English name while making sure it was easy to understand across different languages. Some names sounded cool in English but didn’t land well for non-English speakers—so we put them to the test. As a Korean myself, I also made sure it was a name that felt natural and meaningful from my perspective.
The big reveal is tomorrow!
We’ve finally locked in the name — and we’re hyped to share it with you. During the naming process, we threw around countless ideas. One that still haunts us (jokingly, of course) was "The Final Edge of Sight: Shadow Point Blank." A true masterpiece—if our goal was to make the longest, most dramatic title imaginable. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed.
This has been an exciting journey, and we couldn’t think of a better group to hear it first than our community.
Stay tuned for the reveal tomorrow!
