[h1]The Inquisitor - FAQ[/h1] [h3]What is The Inquisitor? [/h3]  In The Inquisitor, players take on the role of Mordimer Madderdin, servant of God and appointed Inquisitor by the Bishop of Hez Hezron. In a world where Christ Merciless descended from the cross to take revenge on his tormentors and triumph over them, it will take more than faith to perform this mighty task. You have been sent to the City of Koenigstein to investigate mysterious events and find yourself caught in a fierce power struggle between two prominent local groups. Throughout your investigations you will encounter dark secrets, cruelty and human sin; and uncover something far darker, threatening, and more dangerous. Players will use those clues to obtain information to gain even more insight and reconstruct crime scenes later in the game.  [*] [b]Dialogues:[/b] Players will engage in dialogues with citizens of Koenigstein to gather information during the investigations. Decisions made in these conversations will influence the outcome of the player throughout the game.   [*] [b]Qualified Interrogations:[/b] As an Inquisitor, the player will encounter suspects of heresy, blasphemy, and murder. It is possible to use force and torture to interrogate the suspects to gather information, but those means should be employed with caution – the goal is to save poor souls from damnation.  [*] [b]The Unworld:[/b] Mordimer possesses the power to travel to the Unworld. To enter this abyssal plane, he releases his soul from the body. This ability enables players to see behind the real world and reveal clusters of magic as well as the real nature of the citizens of Koenigstein. But there is a grave risk when venturing into this world and the dark force which reigns supreme here will do everything it can to destroy you for stepping foot into its realm.    [*] [b]Combat:[/b] Mordimer is not a master of this trade but knows his way around combat quite well and uses his wit to gain strategic advantage over opponents.  [/list] [h3]Why should I play The Inquisitor? [/h3]  You should play The Inquisitor if you enjoy thrilling crime or detective stories and if you like to actively collect hints and clues to reveal secrets that unfold into a mature and rich fantasy adventure. The dark medieval setting, paired with well-placed gore elements, add to the overall grim atmosphere.  As a player, it depends solely on you how you approach this - will you commit the ‘sin of mercy’ (according to Mordimer's belief, in the alternative version of religious reality) and show compassion to the spiritually weak? Or will you be the merciless hand of God and achieve your goals through torture and intimidation? Depending on your choice, the game world and its characters will adapt accordingly.  But there’s much more to it – at its core, The Inquisitor is a dark fantasy adventure, which also includes real-time action combat (stand-off encounters and boss fights) as well as The Unworld, a hidden world that comes with its own set of rules. Accessible through a special skill set of the main character, the Unworld allows you to gain insight hidden to everyone else to help you to solve your mission.
