[h2]Introducing the Antagonist[/h2]
The Steam release of Bar Breaker is out, and with came a new objective - The Dark Entity.
Originally the game was just the player vs the tyrannical Health Bar, but I always knew I wanted to bring in an antagonist and that time has come.
[h2]The Dark Entity[/h2]
The new enemy is a djinn that has rooted itself deep in the core of the Health Bar, beneath many levels of the bar (99 to be exact), and upon reaching the level it's hiding in the djinn will be summoned.
The final battle with this entity is mostly in-line with the rest of the gameplay, you just unleash your arsenal upon it; however, the djinn will occasionally attempt to heal the bar, at which point you must break the healing orbs it summons before they drop.
While simple, this gives an official ending to the game and provides a larger challenge to expand on in future updates.
[h2]Coming up for the Djinn[/h2]
To really solidify the idea of the Dark Entity as the antagonist I believe an opening sequence involving the entity will go a long way, as well as occasionally having to battle it in some form throughout the game.
Further improving on the djinn and balancing of the game will be my next objective, as well as implementing more aspects of gameplay to improve replayability.
