Small Update on progress for Patch #4 + a poll (and answer to the poll, now!)

Future Fragments

Travel to a threatening future and seek the fragments of a powerful weapon to defend your kingdom. Future Fragments is an adults-only, modern take on a platformer with genre-mixing gameplay, English voicework and a branching storyline with choices that actually matter.

We're still working hard on Patch #4, which will include the completed Gallery, as well as the usual batch of new cutscenes, bugfixes, audio, and lots more content. Not going to give an estimated release date, but I will say it should be sometime soon. In the meantime, we're ran a poll on Discord and Twitter; I figured it'd be neat to post it here, too.
https://strawpoll.com/ajnE1OWronW
The poll is specifically about "how much of the game's word count do you think went towards Databanks versus Cutscenes"? The Databanks are entirely optional of course, and we expect most people to skip them on a first run through the game (or even never interact with them at all), as they're meant to be bonus worldbuilding that's "separated" from the main game's core storyline for the most part. But we'd like to see how much word count you all think went towards them; we'll post the answer in an edit/update to this post in 24 hours. ------------------
EDIT FOR ANSWER TO THE POLL:

8% of the game's script is in the Databanks, and 92% is in Cutscenes currently.

As we get more cutscenes in to finish stuff off, the percentage will go even higher (slightly) in favor of cutscenes.
This number does not count game over scenes, endings, or anything else considered separate from an outright cutscene.
It also does not count any duplicate lines of text; this is purely original lines.
----------
For those of you who might find this hard to believe, consider a few things:

Datatabanks are only in the first four levels of the game, and have no branches.
Conversely, a good amount of cutscenes reach upwards of 20, 30, or even 40+ variants.
In a given run, you'll only see one version of a cutscene; however, almost all cutscenes have at least 2-3 variants.
If you were to average out all the variants in the game across cutscenes, it'd probably be something like 10 variants per cutscene.
Around 3-4% of all cutscenes are "secret", very hard to get/find variants (but not every cutscene has "secret" variants).
----------
In total, we're estimating around 3,000 cutscene variants are currently in the game, compared to 158 databanks.
If you add in true endings, faux endings, game over scenes, etc. that number goes up higher too. ---------- As a reminder too, probably around 95-98% of the game's script is entirely optional; we want players to be able to go as deep or shallow into the plot as they want. We've got more examples of script ratios over at our Discord, at https://discord.gg/puXrfSm
