Today, just over two weeks since release, Slava Ukraini! passed 50,000 users. I really did not see that coming.
When I released Slava Ukraini!, I expected that it would perhaps reach somewhere between 1,000-2,000 users in total, accumulated over several months. That particular expectation was put to shame just a few hours after release and since then, the number of users has been steadily increasing.
It's true that a lot of people probably don't spend hours playing the game, which is to be expected since after all it's a very simple game and it still lacks a lot of content. But anyone who launches it will at least see the plea to make a donation to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is what made me create it in the first place.
The sheer number of users does put some pressure on me to add content and improvements as well as quickly fixing any bugs, spelling mistakes or inconsistencies in the game - and I will do my best to meet the demands.
I am, however, just a single person working on the game in my free time, so there's a hard limit to how much I can do and how quickliy I can do it. Therefore, I would like to ask the community of players on Steam if there's anyone out there who would like to give me a hand in the continuing development of the game.
There are literally hundereds of different things that need doing, ranging from community moderation, through graphic design, texturing, animation, 3D-modelling, coding, image aquisition, video editing, creating guides, beta testing patches, creating Unity prefabs, recording sounds and a whole bunch of other things. Some require skills in their specific area, others require nothing more than a bit of time and a willingness to help.
I will be posting a thread in the game community forum with a request for assistance. If you feel that you would like to help out in raising support and awareness regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, do not hesitate to make a post or contact me. Any help will be appreciated, but please note that this neither is nor ever will be a commercial project and there's no budget, so there's no pay involved for anyone.
Best regards
Mathias
