Amongst at least half a dozen prototypes for "my next big game" and beside a relative side-project or two Erma, a viable Frebbventure sequel is finally starting to take shape! "Frebbventure Alliance" is the working title. What's different this time around?
Nothing but also everything. It's still a fast-paced, combat-focused action platformer with Kirby-style movesets. It's still heavy on story and especially atmosphere, and it's still playable at a base level with a nearly unlimited technical skill ceiling. There are, however, still a few major changes, beyond better level design and moveset flow and crisper art.
First and most obviously, the tagteam character system. Wasn't it neat, being able to bring one of four completely unique characters with their own moves and gimmicks into any level you wanted? Well now you can bring TWO with you, and the overall tally isn't finalized, but there'll be a GOOD DEAL more than 4 total, this time around!
Second is the points and ranking system. If you're a sucker for score attacks and S-rank hunts, this simple addition will crank the game's intensity dial from 11 to 22. Not only does almost every action aware points and almost every mistake subtract them, but a time bonus along with multiple combo and streak systems will do their best to keep you on edge the whole time.
This is obviously still very early-days, but for anyone who might be interested but isn't keeping up with me off of Steam itself, I figured I may as well at least bring it up.
