RC Rush is an exciting arcade racing game featuring radio controlled trucks. Unlock trucks in grand prix cups, win races in campaign mode to unlock campaign events, compete in head to head battles to unlock even more trucks and level up your way to becoming the ultimate RC champion!
Guiding RC Rush through Steam Early Access been a fantastic adventure for us and we want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your help and support throughout Early Access. You've told us about bugs, requested features, shared the links and written reviews - and we are super grateful for all of it. We hope you enjoy the full released version of the game - it's very different to what we started with, last year.
Since it landed on Early Access, we’ve added a whopping amount of new content: 10+ new tracks, more than 20 new vehicles and two new game modes; free roam and grand prix. In total, RC Rush now has over 50 tracks, more than 35 trucks to unlock, 11 different grand prix cup events, 100 campaign mode events and even multiplayer!
RC racing in VR is a new thing and, rather than go for all-out simulation, we wanted the game to be accessible to as many people as possible. A common theme in many of the reviews on Steam is just how fun the vehicle physics are and how players think we ‘nailed it’ with the handling. The physics are realistic, staying true to the feel of real-world RC racing, but not too realistic as to present players with a big learning curve.
As well as difficulty levels for the A.I. opponents, the game features a fully automatic steering mode for players who only want to play with one button. There is also a steering helper handling mode. Steering helper handling gives just the right amount of help for players to retain vehicle control whilst helping just enough to keep the trucks on track. For die-hards, there’s the Pro handling mode, which disables steering help and allows players to fully control the trucks. It’s the most realistic mode and if you’re driving in this mode, it feels like the real deal!
When we first launched into Early Access, we gathered some of the VR community for an online tournament, which served as both a great way to advertise the game and a good way for us to test during the early stages of the game’s multiplayer capability. Thank you to everyone who helped make that happen - following feedback from the tournament, we were able to revise the multiplayer game to be more robust and intuitive.
As a two-person team, we’ve worked hard to bring all the excitement and thrills of RC racing to VR without a steep learning curve. We wanted to whisk people away from their houses into some fun fantasy locations where you might not ordinarily be allowed to race RC vehicles. Most of all, we wanted to create an arcade style racing game that feels realistic in VR and, judging by the reaction of our community, we think we’ve achieved those goals.
We want to thank everybody who has supported RC Rush along to way - you, the RC Rush community, helped us to reach this point and helped us make this happen. Thank you!
We really hope that you enjoy our game,
Jeff and Sylvain.
