Professional Fishing 2: Demo Feedback and Early Access Plans

Professional Fishing 2

"Professional Fishing 2" is the second installment of an exciting fishing game that takes you into the world of thrilling angling adventures. Step into the shoes of a novice angler, embarking on a journey with simple yet reliable gear.

Dear Players! It's been a week since the release of the Professional Fishing 2 demo. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who played the demo, filled out the survey in the game, and provided ratings and feedback. I am very pleased with the number of players who participated in the demo and the ratings I received in the surveys. Over 3000 people have played the demo, and it has received an overall rating of 3.8/5. You might be wondering why I'm not engaging in discussions with you here on Steam and not responding to your questions. I want you to know that I don't have much time to participate in discussions as I'm focused on developing the game. However, I do check and read your opinions and thoughts from time to time. I want to emphasize that your opinions and suggestions are crucial to me. They often hold valuable insights, so I strive to consider them during the game development process. However, the final decisions regarding the game's development will be based on my vision and plan. I am a one-person studio, handling programming, graphics, sound, and all other aspects of game production by myself. Therefore, I ask for your understanding and patience. I take all of your opinions and suggestions into account, and I make changes and improvements based on them. I want to create a game that I would personally love to play. I will keep you updated on the progress and new features in the game. The demo version will receive one more update with improvements, but there won't be any additional content added. The demo is a limited version of the game meant to showcase its core features and help you make an informed decision before potentially purchasing the full version. Let me address some frequently asked questions about the demo:

"The float is not very visible; please add a float zoom option." In the game settings (Settings->Game), there is an option to scale the float, set by default to 5. You should increase this value to make the float more visible.

"The fishing line shortens after each cast." In reality, the fishing line doesn't shorten, but in the game, it is related to maintaining the game's economic balance. Items need to be consumed so that players have something to spend their money on. The shortening of the fishing line is a representation of its wear.

"The fishing gear wears out too quickly." I will reduce the rate at which items wear out to address this.

"The fish are too small." In the demo, larger fish also appear. You need to adjust the length of the leader for float fishing, fish at greater water depths, keep the bait closer to the bottom when spinning, use the right bait for the fishing spot, and explore various locations as fish come in different species and sizes in different areas of the water.

"I receive too little experience and money for catching fish." The game is designed to provide a challenge. To gain experience and money more quickly, you should complete as many quests and tasks as possible. The tasks are not difficult, and there is plenty of time to complete them. In future versions of the game, additional methods of gaining experience and money will be introduced.

"There's no tutorial." The tutorial is available before starting the game in the Help->How to Play section. There, you can find basic information on how to operate the game. As new techniques and options are added, the "How to Play" guide will be expanded. Make sure to also familiarize yourself with the list of controls in the Settings->Controls section.
Currently, I'm working hard on the early access version of the game, planned for release in October this year. This version will include:

An expanded map of Central Europe with additional regions, rivers, backwaters, lakes, and ponds.
A world map.
Character customization and personalization options.
Basic multiplayer features, such as the visibility of other players and communication between them.
The feeder fishing method.
Bait and groundbait mechanics.
Sonars and echo sounders.
An expanded assortment of fishing gear in the fishing shop, including various types of rods, reels, baits, and other accessories.
Watercraft: boats, pontoons, and motorboats.
Land vehicles: quads.
Leaderboards for the best players.
Achievements.
During the early access phase, I also plan to:

Expand the map of Central Europe with additional regions, including Western and Eastern Europe, as well as Scandinavia.
Introduce the fly fishing method.
Further develop the fishing shop's assortment.
Add additional watercraft and land vehicles.
Introduce public transportation.
Enhance the multiplayer mode with fishing duels and competitions.
Implement hunting elements.
I hope you will enjoy the game in the next version and that it will bring you much joy. Thank you for your support and valuable feedback, which helps me improve the game. With respect, MasterCode
