Gather a fearsome crew and sail the space boarding ships and stations, robbing them naked, and shooting whoever stands in your way in the roguelike with RPG elements P1R4T3S!
You, sea dogs, all hands on deck or I’ll see you dancing the hemp jig before the sunset! We’re about to set sail to Deep Space and we need every man, woman, cyborg and mutant! P1R4T3S releases tomorrow on Steam Early Access, but before this ship leaves port, there are a few things I want this crew to know.
As you may know, our first game Lovecraft’s Untold Stories was released on Early Access too. The experience couldn’t have been more positive: the feedback we received helped us shape the game, and we are convinced it wouldn’t have reached its true potential without it. Besides, the Early Access release gave us economic support that allowed us to spend more time working in the game – which in turn led to better console versions further down the road.
These are the reasons why we decided to release P1R4T3S in Early Access as well. But this raises a question, one that we want to be as transparent as possible about: what exactly are we releasing now? Let’s be clear: right now, we consider the game to be in a pre-alpha stage. That means that the core mechanics are there, and they work robustly – but it lacks a lot of content that will have to be implemented in the weeks and months to come.
In the coming weeks, we will work tirelessly to fix any technical problems that may arise with this release so as to start working on new content as soon as possible. We expect to hit an alpha stage by late Q2. The biggest development milestone will come by late Q3, when we expect to implement multiplayer in P1R4T3S. If all goes fine, full release on Steam should come by the end of the year – and later on, mobile and consoles versions, just like we did with Lovecraft’s Untold Stories.
We want you to be aware of this roadmap so that, if you decide to buy the game now, you know exactly what you’re getting. If you get P1R4T3S now, you will be supporting us to keep working in the game to make it as good as possible, and your feedback and suggestions will help us to make a better game. If you prefer to wait, it’s perfectly fine too – this ship’s going to be traveling through the galaxy for a long, long time, and new p1r4t3s will always be welcomed in this crew!
Thanks for your continued support, and good luck out there, c4pt41n!
