Hello! In today’s DevBlog, we have (one of our) last [b]WARNO - NORTHAG[/b] previews, focusing on the new, number #4 map: [b]Valley[/b]. Note that all new maps will be freely available and downloadable for all owners of [b]WARNO[/b]. [b][h2]A Real-Life Inspiration[/h2][/b] [b]Valley[/b] is inspired by the Bad König region in West Germany, known for its rugged valleys and rough terrain. The 9 km² battlefield - which equates to 3x3 km - is similar in size to popular maps such as [b]Airport[/b], [b]Twin Cities[/b], and [b]Rocks[/b]. This new battlefield is going to require all the tactical prowess and skills of a well-experienced [b]WARNO[/b] commander. The new map features two naturally flowing rivers bordering the edges of the battlefield. These provide a unique opportunity to use your amphibious units. The waterways snake their way through the map, creating several tactical chokepoints and passageways very suitable for ambushes (or swift retreats). These offer great vantage points for your hidden recon units (and surprise attacks). There won’t be any Command Zones here, so this part of the map is all about gaining the tactical upper hand. The bits of woods and thickets will be the prime location for some intense skirmishes. No river too deep, no mountain too high, but you’ll have to be a patient but adventurous commander if you want to take hold - and dominate - this part of [b]Valley[/b]. World War III hits the North German Plain where the attacking Warsaw Pact needs to overcome the staunch defenses of NATO’s NORTHAG. Under British command, Belgian, Dutch, West German, and American forces battle against the powerful northern formations of the Soviet Group of Forces in Germany, including East German and reinforcing Polish armies.
