Today I've got an awesome announcement for something that's been in the works for quite a while; Mining Mechs is coming to consoles! I've partnered up with EastAsiaSoft for the porting and publishing and you can see their full announcement video here: [previewyoutube=obvVShiZETs;full][/previewyoutube] [h3]Platforms[/h3] [list] [*] Nintendo Switch [*] PlayStation 4 [*] PlayStation 5 [*] Xbox One [*] Xbox Series X|S [/list] [h3]About Multiplayer[/h3] It's important to note that the console version of Mining Mechs will be singleplayer only, so there will be no online co-op. The reason for this is because online functionality is much harder to support on console platforms than it is on PC. Besides, the current implementation of the PC version relies completely on the Steam API for matchingmaking and connectivity, meaning multiplayer support for consoles would have needed to be built from the ground up. Additionally, not being able to rely on the Steam services means there would be service costs, which can be quite significant for a relatively low priced game with high replay value. Therefore, after giving it a lot of thought, I've decided to bring Mining Mechs to consoles as a singleplayer experience. I know this might be a bit disappointing for all the multiplayer fanatics, but I didn't feel that this was a reason not to launch on consoles at all as I know a lot of you are enjoying the game in singleplayer as well! [h3]What else?[/h3] The game is scheduled to release this year. It will launch at a price point just above the Steam pricing, but the console edition will include the Magnetic Mystery DLC content by default.
