Good day Heroes, We've explored the intricacies of tactical battles, leveling mechanisms and other wonderful key themes to master in order to successfully win your run. Let's delve deeper into the world of Forgotten Mines with a very important subject: the Meta.
Currencies
There are four of them: Iron Ore, Gold Ore, Gems and Kingdom Coins. Iron and Gold serve as currencies during the expedition, used to purchase items and supplies within the mines, that is, they exist so the player's expedition is as successful as possible. Gems are used to improve future expeditions and can be exchanged for Kingdom Coins, which are crucial for passive improvements for future expeditions. Iron is essential for upgrading equipment at the Blacksmith, while gold is extremely important to buy various items in the Shop and Reroll the items you can buy. Gems act as the primary meta-currency, while Kingdom Coins, although seemingly less valuable, are actually the most costly. The idea here was to generate an order of importance between varied resources, similar to the resource management in games like Heroes of Might and Magic III, where each resource has its unique utility and significance.
Amulets
Players must select three amulets from a wide range of bonuses to carry on their run. While some offer situational effects, others are even quite counterintuitive in their possible uses. The truth is, these amulets can synergize with class choices, forming powerful combinations. I believe that players will discover and experiment with both expected and unexpected combinations, leading to exciting gameplay discoveries (that I can't wait to read about).
Basically, here's what you should know
Forgotten Mines' encompasses three key areas crucial for progression. Firstly, the Magic Shop offers a variety of Amulets that players can unlock and purchase using Gems, each granting unique bonuses that can significantly impact gameplay. Secondly, in the Barracks, players unlock new classes for future expeditions. Lastly, the Guilds will let you invest Kingdom Coins into various Guilds, acquiring new passive abilities that enhance your power with each investment. I believe it's okay for there to be a certain unevenness, or even a stratification of content: not every Pokémon needs to be Arceus and not everything needs to be Rattata. The key is to establish different tiers with defined limits, ensuring balance and diversity. Based on this, creating additional content becomes a little simpler and more objective. Not to mention that “Arceus” are more expensive and more difficult to obtain than “Rattatas”, wink wink. Anyway, thank you for reading, I'm looking forward to you trying out the game with its brand new demo! And don't forget: Forgotten Mines will be available on July 23rd!
