Version 0.40 now available! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been a few weeks and v0.40 is now available, the reason I haven't done an update recently is due to coding the procedurally generated levels, which took quite some time (About two weeks which is pretty fast considering), but we're now certainly back on schedule, we hope you enjoy this update! Version 0.40 changelog I've implemented procedurally generated levels for all eight areas, this took awhile because it's fairly complex code, and I had to redraw all the level graphics. I'm pretty happy with it so let me know what you think! After listening to some player feedback about the game being too difficult I took two measures, you can now beat the game in training mode, the player now has four cp stars instead of three, and I've also added a pretty cool stars and tokens system. But don't worry it's still fairly hard if your not paying attention. After losing or beating a run now, you go to a score screen where depending on your run you will be awarded C.O stars aswell as game tokens. These carry over from runs. Game tokens will allow you to purchase bonus effects such as the speed bonus, double kill bonus, triple kill bonus, and also allow you to unlock new areas, new enemy types, new mini-games such as the carnival mini-games, wheel of fortune etc. The C.O stars system which again you get awarded after losing or beating a run, unlocks the different layouts. There's some good ones too, like Ada and four scouts, Ada and a sniper etc. I've also added a line of sight code so you know where nearby enemies are when in battle mode. Those are the major updates but here are the other minor fixes I've implemented. The game now saves frequently so if you encounter a rare bug or crash you won't lose any progress, if the game does get stuck for any reason you can hit CTRL&Q to instant quit.
