Klang 2 returns for the autumn festival!

Klang 2

Klang 2 is a psychedelic rhythm-action game, blindly pursuing full immersion with dance music through high-speed combat.

Klang 2 returns for the autumn festival! While recent development efforts has prioritized finalizing story content, I managed to squeeze in some quality of life improvements for the autumn festival. One long overdue feature in particular is the options menu. It's finally in!
Customizable controls!

Keyboard dash keys!
Up till this point, Klang 2 has only been playable with the mouse or game controller. Now you can perform all of Klang's moves with the mouse & keyboard combo! Dashing can be performed by pressing the correct combination. The default setting is WASD, but can also be changed to IJKL and the arrow keys. This is ideal for players who prefer a more "binary" input for their rhythm games. Let me know if there are more obscure key combinations out there you like support for!
Keyboard attack key!
I've also included support for a keyboard "attack key" substituting mouse-clicks. This should come in handy for those playing with a drawing tablet, or simply need a secondary attack input! This key can be set to nearly any keyboard button!
Gamepad attack button!
Don't like the A button for some reason? You can now change it to any face & shoulder button.
Accessibility options!

Stick aim assist
Klang 2 can get pretty intense at times, especially when playing with the gamepad. While manually aiming and hitting targets is the intended playstyle, I acknowledge it has a bit of a learning curve. First timers not up to the challenge may appreciate the newly added aim assist. The lock on setting ensures you only need to line up the shot once for each target. Ideal for those finding the default setting a tad too difficult. The auto aim setting removes the aiming aspect entirely. A well timed button press is all it takes to hit targets now. I only recommend this option for complete beginners, or those struggling with keeping track of numerous things at once. Do note it only works for gamepads!
Aim opacity!
Found the aim tiles too dim or bright? You can now customize its appearance. Turn it mega bright or completely invisible, your choice.
Icon themes!
Playing with a Playstation or Switch controller? Button icons can now reflect that!
HUD!
Are you the type who don't really care for highscore-chasing, and just want to see pretty colors react to your rhythm inputs? Toggle the HUD off and fully immerse yourself in Klang 2s audiovisual presentation!
Dark assist!
Klang 2s secret sauce for balancing gameplay readability and visual fidelity. The more happening on screen at any given time, the darker the background becomes. Letting you more easily focus on what matters, staying on beat! You now have the power to adjust this feature to your liking.
Master volume!
Standard master volume setting. Nice addition for those finding the game too loud and don't want to adjust external audio volumes.
Gameplay SFX!
Want nothing to be in the way between you and the music? This option's for you!
Damage distortion!
The music distorts when taking damage. Love/Hate this feature? Adjust it to your liking!
Quality of life improvements!
While final audio's still being worked on by bLiNd, you may notice some neat touches on the audio side. I'm particularly happy with the new theme playing in the arcade between levels. Visual feedback when taking damage was a bit excessive on previous iterations. Now it should hopefully be a lot easier to identify your next target under pressure. There has also been a few bug fixes along the way, but I'll spare you the details...
At last, a development update:
Klang 2s development is nearly concluded. I'm refining the story content and end-game incentives while waiting for final audio. After that only basic features like localization and skipping cutscenes remain. While I'm confident Klang 2 can go gold in 2020, I don't expect to release it until Q1 2021. Primary motivation behind this decision is releasing on all platforms simultaneously and avoiding the holiday season. Thank you for your patience!
