From the creator of Speed Dating for Ghosts comes a new weird text adventure about death and sleep paralysis set in the late 1980s.
Hi there. My name is Ben Gelinas. I'm a video game writer and designer who works in both AAA and indie spheres.
Under my Copychaser Games label, I've released one indie game to date: the whole horror conversation sim Speed Dating for Ghosts.
On the AAA side, my credits include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, and, most recently, Remedy Games' new weird action adventure Control.
Working on Control got me into the New Weird genre of fiction in a big way. I wanted to write my own narrative take on the burgeoning genre. Combine that with a long-held love of old school text adventures and you get...

Slumber Clause is way more than a throwback to classic text adventures, with modern choice and narrative mechanics piled on top to create an immersive, detailed experience that should appeal to fans of adventure games and BioWare-style choices and characters alike.
The game is extremely, totally, absolutely focused on story.
You play as a recently-widowed paramedic mom battling a mean case of sleep paralysis. When you're not trying to hold your waking life together, you're navigating surreal dreams of unspeakable beauty and endless possibilities that always seem to end in tragedy.
All the while, a hooded figure stalks you. Collect clues to discover who they are and what they want.

Slumber Clause may not be much to look at yet. It's still being made. But if you are interested in where it's going and what it could become, please consider wishlisting my game. I'll be releasing it episodically using Steam's Early Access feature, so early supporters will get the best deal. <3
For those new to my work, thank you for reading all this.
If you already like Speed Dating for Ghosts, just thank you. A lot. The massive support we've received for our weird little ghosts encouraged me to make more weird games that aren't like anything else out there, because I now know there's an audience of rad people who might want to play them.
👁❤️👻,
Ben
