🧟 Insight into Torn Apart: How it works

Torn Apart Prototype

In Torn Apart, you can play with up to 8 players, where one player is secretly chosen as the traitor. The traitor's mission is to get rid of the other players and sabotage the group's efforts to survive the zombie apocalypse. It's up to the rest of the group to work together!

Hey there! Before Torn Apart launches next week, we want to give you a quick overview of how the game works, so you're all set for your first rounds! Additionally, we will upload a guide we recommend you check out before getting started. Your goal in Torn Apart is to protect your group’s camp from zombies and escape with the rescue helicopter that's on its way to you. To do that, you need to repair barricades and other defense systems to keep the zombies out. Pressing "F" will bring up your radar, which shows you all the places in the camp where things need to be repaired. But be quick! You only have limited time before the zombies storm your camp. You start the game in the meeting room where you'll find a table with tools. Grab a hammer or screwdriver – it doesn't matter which one – and then explore the camp. When the alarm goes off, that means areas in the camp need to be repaired. But here's the twist: one of you (or two, depending on your settings) will be a Traitor. Their job is to eliminate all the other players before the helicopter arrives so that they can leave the camp alone (more legroom in the helicopter, amirite). The Traitor can eliminate players by right-clicking with their tool. But beware! If someone catches you, they can call an Emergency Meeting where the group can vote to eject a player from the camp. You can call an Emergency Meeting in two ways: pressing the big button in the meeting room or finding a dead body and clicking on it. You must go to the meeting room immediately when the meeting is called. You only have limited time to gather there. Only the players in the room can participate in the meeting, but everyone else can listen in from outside. The group can decide to eject a player from the camp, even if the chosen player is not part of the meeting. If the Traitor is ejected from the camp, the survivors win. If the Traitor doesn't eliminate all the survivors before the helicopter arrives, the survivors win too. So, the Traitor needs to eliminate all the other players. Easy, right? One last tip: Use the features of the camp to get rid of your fellow players "creatively". There are hidden spikes on the ground (fun), a shooting range (very fun), and pianos (maximum fun) that you can use to create "accidents." Whoopsies! We hope you have a blast playing Torn Apart. Be sure to check out our game guide which will be released right before the game becomes available. It should answer any further questions you have or any new ones that come up while you play! Your Team at Headup
