Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!
In today's note, we would like to talk about the upcoming update: Guild Battle Research.
As many of you agree, battle is one of the core aspects of Summoners War.
Guild PvP content such as Siege Battle and World Guild Battle offers immersive gameplay where your guild can elaborate on various decks and strategies to win against opposing guilds.
We are introducing a new feature called Guild Battle Research. With this, you will be able to study various decks and discuss strategies with guild members more easily.
Let's dive into the details below.
===================================================
What's Guild Battle Research?
It's a guild-exclusive feature where you can run test battles in an environment similar to an actual battle, allowing you to study and discuss various decks with guild members.
▶ Experiment Freely
Build and test defense and offense decks using Monsters you don’t own. See how your dream decks perform in practice.
▶ No Rune and Artifact Removal Costs
Equip and swap Runes and Artifacts freely without any cost.
Note that these changes are temporary and only apply within the Guild Battle Research menu.
▶ Store Up to 100 Defense Decks
Your guild can save up to 100 defense decks, enabling extensive strategy testing and refinement.
▶ Share Research and Feedback
Conduct battle research and leave up to 30 replays and comments per defense deck, fostering in-depth discussion and improvement within your guild.
===================================================
We believe that the ability to design and test decks using Monsters you don't own will be a useful tool, giving you a strategic advantage in guild PvP content such as Siege Battle and World Guild Battle.
Now, let's look at how you can use the Guild Battle Research feature in detail.
▶ New Feature: [Guild Battle Research]
The new Guild Battle Research feature can be accessed via Guild Tower.

Here, you can see a new [Battle Research] button added to the Guild Tower menu.
When you tap this button, you will see the following screen.

The screen displays defense decks with strategy details and comments on how to improve the decks.
This was prepared to allow Summoners to freely share their thoughts, effective tactics, and areas for improvement when trying out the defense decks.
Now, let's go over the extensive menus and demonstrate how to use the feature.
▶ Register Defense Decks
Tap the [Battle Research] menu to see the following pop-up.

You will see an empty pop-up for now since there are no defense decks registered. Now, let's tap the Register Defense Deck button.
▶ STEP 1. Place Monsters in the defense placement screen.
Tap the [Guild Battle Research > Register Defense Deck] to see the following defense placement screen.

As mentioned earlier, you can also place Monsters you don't own.
Tap the button displayed on the screen to see the Monster selection screen and add Monsters.

The added Monsters will be 6-starred Monsters with MAX level and MAX skill levels.

Once the Monsters are placed, the [Rune/Artifact Settings] button will be activated in the [Defense Placement] screen.
▶ STEP 2. Set up Runes and Artifacts of the placed Monsters.

You can set up three Monsters in a defense deck at once, and the Monsters will have their current Runes and Artifacts engraved initially.
You can also load Runes/Artifacts engraved on other Monsters.
Once you've completed all of the settings, you'll return to the defense placement screen and register the defense deck.
▶ STEP 3. Register the defense deck.

Tap the [Register] button, and you will see a screen asking you to enter the title of the defense deck. Enter the title and the defense deck will be registered.

When conducting battle research, you can set the Monster's Runes and Artifacts in the same way as you do for the defense deck.
Of course, you can use Monsters that you don't own in battle.
When you finish battle research, a button to make a comment will appear on the battle results screen.

The [Share to Guild] button allows you to leave comments, replays, and details regarding the defense deck under Guild Battle Research > Defense Deck, as seen below.

If you simply wish to play a battle without leaving a record of your battle research, tap on the [Quit] button on the battle results screen.
You can also post comments on the defense deck without engaging in battle.
Tap the [Feedback] button on the Guild Battle Research > Defense Deck screen to select a Monster or simply add comments.

We've covered the steps for registering a defense deck, researching registered defense decks, and leaving comments. We believe that this new feature will help many in finding ways to counter decks, improve defense decks, and more.
We are already excited to see Summoners using this feature to create a page full of rich tactics.
▶ Other Details
▷ One guild can register and manage up to 100 defense decks, and each defense deck can save up to 30 replays and feedback.
(Please note that the save limit per deck is shared by all guild members.)
When your guild has 100 defense decks, no more decks can be registered. You must delete the existing defense decks to register new ones.
This also means that you can have only up to 30 replays/feedback per deck, and you must delete the existing replay/feedback to add new ones.
Only you, Guild Master, and Vice Guild Masters can delete the registered defense decks. Please communicate with your guildmates to manage the defense decks.
▷ Guild Tower > Replay will be improved.
- A [Battle Test] replay tab will be added, allowing you to see the replays of battle tests separately.

- You can now leave comments on replays of Siege Battle and battle test.

The UI will be modified so that comments can be added when sharing Siege Battle replays after the battle is over. Leave battle information in the comments section and share it with guild members alongside the replay.
Lastly, we would like to discuss the features that will be added and modified along with Guild Battle Research.
▶ [Siege Battle Season 16] New Battlefield
The Siege Battle has undergone numerous changes since its initial update in 2017, including the addition of the Siege Battle Tournament, special rules, and the Punisher grade.
The battleground, one of the most essential aspects of Siege Battle, will be changed in the next season.

The image above shows that many portions of the current battlefield have changed.
The number of bases adjacent to opposing guilds has increased from five to seven. We predict more intense fights to break out as more bases face opposing guilds. The key is to firmly protect your guild's frontline while occupying the bases of opposing guilds.
The base in the center, connected to both the HQ and several frontline bases, is connected to six bases of your guild. In other words, the central base may as well be the most vital base for your guild. Protecting this base will be another key to victory.
Because of this modification in the battleground, we expect to see many new methods and tactics that differ from those used in the current Siege Battle.
We hope that the addition of the Guild Battle Research feature, as well as the modifications to the battlefield, will bring new changes and vigor to battle.
We are also considering modifying the design of the battleground at a later point, if necessary. We intend to update the battlefield design on an irregular basis in preparation for new strategies to be deployed in Siege Battle.
▶ [Monster Subjugation] Battle Time Change
The Monster Subjugation battle time will change in the v.8.3.9 update. The current battle lasts 24 hours in total, 12 hours each for first round and second round.
We received feedback from Summoners who were unable to engage in the current Monster Subjugation battle due to its short duration.
We'd like to make adjustments so that more Summoners can enjoy the content by increasing its duration from 12 to 24 hours.
The change in battle time will take effect from the Monster Subjugation taking place the week after the update. We are currently working on v.8.3.9 to be released on Jul. 12th. Based on this timeline, Monster Subjugation that begins after Jul. 15th will have each round lasting 24 hours.
We anticipate that more Summoners will be able to engage in the Monster Subjugation which will now last for a total of 48 hours.
This is all we have for today's note.
We hope that you are excited to see the features mentioned in the game soon.
The dev note is intended to help you understand the upcoming update in advance.
As development and testing are still underway, we ask you to understand that the actual update may differ from what we shared in this note.
We will be back with another exciting dev note soon!
Thank you.
