We’re thrilled to bring you special news while the New Year excitement is still in the air. Today, we’re here to discuss the highly-anticipated collaboration update with the anime called Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba! ■ Summoners War x Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Collaboration Begins January 9, 2025 PST! ▶ Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (* This introduction is based on works released as of 2024.) Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge published under SHUEISHA's JUMP COMICS, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable. The story begins when Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon, joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his younger sister Nezuko back into a human after she is transformed into a demon. In April 2019, the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba first premiered with the Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, followed by the release of the feature film Mugen Train in October 2020, and the TV series Mugen Train Arc and Entertainment District Arc from 2021 through 2022. Starting in February 2023, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village- World Tour kicked off, followed by the TV adaptation of the Swordsmith Village Arc airing and streaming in April. In February 2024, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- was released in movie theaters worldwide featuring a special theatrical screening in over 145 countries and regions - surpassing the previous year's release. The TV series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc was broadcast and streamed online in May. The production of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is confirmed to arrive in movie theatres as a trilogy. The series has captivated audiences worldwide with its tragic tale of humans and demons, riveting sword fights, charming characters, and comical scenes. For this collaboration, we’ve selected five key characters to bring them to life in Summoners War: Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Gyomei Himejima. Tanjiro, who grows stronger with unwavering determination and a warm heart; Nezuko, who fights alongside her brother while holding onto her humanity; Inosuke, with his wild instincts and fierce combat style; Zenitsu, who overcomes his fears to unleash incredible power in moments of crisis; and Gyomei, the steadfast Stone Hashira leading the Demon Slayer Corps with overwhelming strength and conviction—these beloved characters have been reimagined in a Summoners War style. Get ready for a truly special experience as these iconic characters join the world of Summoners War! Just like in previous collaborations, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba characters will be added only in their awakened forms, using their own names. In this collaboration, Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Inosuke Hashibira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma will appear as either a Nat 4 or Nat 5 Character, depending on their Attributes. Gyomei Himejima will exclusively appear as a Nat 5 Wind Attribute and will be available through an event! We know Summoners are particularly interested in how their iconic skills from the anime have been adapted into the game. To give you a sneak peek, we've put together a glimpse of some of their skills—check it out below! We found Tanjiro Kamado’s skills particularly exciting to develop. All of his skills are active skills, allowing Summoners to experience dynamic and visually stunning battles. We’ve worked hard to capture the intensity and energy of the action scenes from the anime in the game. In contrast, Zenitsu Agatsuma embodies the focus of a true swordsman, channeling everything into a single, powerful technique. While he has fewer active skills, his unique battle style shines with combinations of active and passive skills. Summoners can enjoy a special battle experience as he unleashes devastating attacks in an instant. It will be interesting to see how his raw intensity was adapted into Summoners War. To fully embrace the anime's charm, this collaboration includes character voiceovers from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime. Turn on the sound while playing and you'll feel like you're reliving the emotional and action-packed moments of the anime. We hope this adds another level of immersion to your battles—something to look forward to! We're eager to hear your thoughts on these skills! While we can't share everything just yet, rest assured that we're working hard to bring fantastic skills and animations to all Attributes. We've created a ton of special content for this collaboration, in addition to the Characters and their skill sets. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime collaboration will bring a slew of new features and events, making this update even more thrilling. Let's take a closer look! ■ Collab Exclusive Content: Event Building If you look at the screenshots, you may notice something different about Sky Island. For the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime collaboration, darkness has descended upon Sky Island to shape the atmosphere for the collab. Along with the new mood, the Demon Slayer Collab Building will also appear on Sky Island. This building serves as a hub for all collab-related content, making it easy to access various features. You can enter the building directly or use the newly added icon on the right side of the island screen for quick navigation. When you enter the building, you'll see a screen like this, with all collab-related items displayed in one spot for quick access. Let's get into the interesting collaboration content available from this hub. ■ Collab Exclusive Content: Minigame As part of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba collaboration, we’ve brought minigames! These minigames are designed around the training process of the anime's main characters. With simple controls, anyone can enjoy them, but their fast-paced nature will put your reflexes and decision-making speed to the test for an extra layer of excitement. There are three minigames in total. The first minigame, Tanjiro’s "Sprint Training," will launch with the initial update. The remaining two minigames will be added in subsequent updates. Summoners can track their records and compete through weekly rankings. Additionally, completing daily missions tied to the minigames will reward you with various exciting items. ★Minigame Overview ▶ Sprint Training The first minigame, "Sprint Training," features Tanjiro running as far as possible while avoiding obstacles. By tapping the screen, you can change Tanjiro’s direction, steering him left and right (up and down) to avoid obstacles and tree fences. As time passes, the running speed increases, and the obstacle patterns become more challenging, offering an intense and engaging experience. The game ends when Tanjiro crashes into a tree at the edge of the road. Along the way, you can collect Mana Stones and rice ball-shaped bonus score items to earn additional points. A special coin-shaped item grants combo points when collected in a row—but missing even one will break the combo, so you’ll need to stay focused! Your final score is determined by the distance you run, the items you collect, and your combo streak. Maintaining a consistent combo is the key to achieving high scores. Take on the challenge with Tanjiro and aim for your best record! ▶ Obstacle Training (Update scheduled for late January) The second minigame, "Obstacle Training," features Zenitsu jumping across platforms to travel as far as possible. You can make Zenitsu jump by tapping the screen. Tap twice for a double jump, or three times for a triple jump. Falling between platforms or being pushed off the left side of the screen will end the game. Adjust your jumps based on the platform distances to ensure safe landings. While crossing platforms, you’ll encounter rice ball and dango-shaped bonus score items, just like in the first minigame. The dango-shaped items also charge your Fever Gauge. When the Fever Gauge is full, a Fever Mode is activated, causing rice balls to pour down from the sky. Collect as many as possible during this time for extra points! Successfully chaining double jumps builds combo points, but consecutive single jumps will break your combo, requiring precise timing and strategy. Your score is based on the number of platforms crossed, items collected, and combo streaks maintained. Challenge yourself with Zenitsu, plan your jumps wisely, and take full advantage of Fever Mode to achieve the highest score! ▶ Water Dash Training (Update scheduled for February) The last minigame, "Water Dash Training," features Inosuke swimming as far as possible while avoiding underwater obstacles. By tapping and holding the screen, Inosuke swims upward; releasing the tap lets him dive downward as he moves forward. Navigate carefully to avoid rocks and the walls on both sides of the path. During the swim, bubble items appear, which can be burst for points and combo boosts. These bubbles are crucial not only for increasing your score but also for maintaining your combo streak, so make sure not to miss them. You can also earn bonus combo points by dodging rocks. However, the game ends instantly if Inosuke collides with the walls or obstacles. Your score is determined by the swim distance, the number of bubbles burst, and the combo streak maintained. Keeping your combo intact is key to achieving high scores. Dive into action with Inosuke, and enjoy the thrill of navigating through obstacles for the best possible record! ■ Minigame Rewards Play minigames, complete missions, and earn various rewards! When you complete missions provided randomly, you can earn mission points. If you achieve a certain number of mission points within a week, you will receive weekly mission rewards. Please refer to the table below for the list of weekly mission rewards! Up next, we’re excited to announce the return of the event dungeon content, a feature from previous collaborations! This time, it’s been specially designed for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba collab. Let’s dive into what this event dungeon has in store for Summoners! ■ Collab Exclusive Content: Event Dungeon “Hashira Training” In this collab, we’ve prepared a brand-new dungeon that both fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime and players new to Summoners War can enjoy without any pressure! ▶ Hashira Training Featuring Three Trainers (Mist Hashira, Serpent Hashira, and Wind Hashira) In Hashira Training, the popular Hashira characters from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will appear as final opponents across Normal, Hard, and Hell difficulties! The featured characters are Muichiro Tokito, Obanai Iguro, and Sanemi Shinazugawa. They will appear as Trainers to challenge you in intense battles, pushing Summoners to their limits. The newly added Hashira Training mode features a series of interconnected stages on a branching path. Once you clear a stage, you can freely move to any adjacent area. Each difficulty level starts from a different location on the map: The final stage, Trainer Stage (①), remains fixed at the center of the map regardless of difficulty. This stage serves as the final challenge where the Trainers (Mist Hashira, Serpent Hashira, and Wind Hashira) appear. Clearing stages rewards you with loot items, which enhance your Monsters' stats or grant them unique abilities. In past collaborations, Summoners were able to choose one of three random loot options. However, in this collaboration, each stage has a fixed loot reward, and you can preview the loot of adjacent stages before clearing them. This will let you plan your next move strategically after each stage. Diverse loot effects are crucial for tackling stages and defeating the Trainer. Be sure to carefully consider the loot that suits your team and chart your path to maximize your chances of success! As you clear stages, the Training Bar at the top of the screen fills up. Once the bar reaches 100%, you’ll be able to enter the Trainer Stage, the final goal of the Hashira Training mode. However, even if your Training Bar is full, you won’t be able to enter the Trainer Stage unless you’ve already secured a connected path. This means planning your route to ensure access to the Trainer Stage is just as important as filling the Training Bar. The Trainer Stage can be accessed from the west, east, and south. Strategize carefully to ensure a smooth path to the final challenge! ▶ Collab Characters of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime can be used in battle. When you enter the Hashira Training event dungeon, you can select one of the four Collab Characters to use in the battle. ▶ Hashira Training consists of Normal, Hard, and Hell difficulties. You can proceed to the next difficulty upon clearing the Trainer Stage in the order of Normal > Hard > Hell. You can obtain a clear reward upon clearing each difficulty. A special reward will be provided weekly if you clear the Trainer Stage of Hell difficulty. ▶ There are Normal, Elite, Support, Upgrade, and Trainer Stages. In Special Upgrade Stages, you can strengthen the skills of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Characters to give them an edge in battle. These enhancements include unique effects inspired by the anime. Each difficulty level offers one upgrade, allowing you to strengthen up to three skills in total. Additionally, a new set of upgraded skills will be introduced weekly. ▶ Monsters defeated during battle cannot be used again. Monsters that were defeated at the end of a battle cannot be used for the rest of that week’s battles. As mentioned earlier, the Trainers (Mist Hashira, Serpent Hashira, and Wind Hashira) will rotate weekly based on difficulty. To start, let’s introduce Obanai Iguro, who will appear in the Hard difficulty during the first week! In Hard difficulty, Obanai Iguro mirrors his Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime counterpart by utilizing Serpent Breathing, making him a crafty and unpredictable opponent. His battle style revolves around turning beneficial effects into Continuous Damage and maximizing his attacks by exploiting harmful effects, keeping your team under constant pressure. Adding to his threat, Obanai’s high Attack Speed and Attack Bar boosts allow him to take turns frequently, leaving no room for error. To counter Obanai’s relentless assault, having a support Monster capable of consistently cleansing harmful effects is essential for maintaining stability in battle. One of the recommended Monsters would be Dark Ifrit, a reliable ally with excellent survivability and cleansing abilities. Dark Ifrit can remove harmful effects while ensuring your team stays alive, making it a valuable asset against Obanai’s overwhelming tactics. As always, we’re confident that Summoners will devise brilliant strategies to overcome this formidable opponent. Each difficulty level features a Trainer Stage. Clear each difficulty to earn additional rewards. The Hashira Training resets every week. If you clear the Trainer stage of Hell difficulty, you can obtain a special reward for that week. The weekly rewards are as follows. We hope you are excited to try out the limited collab content that this collaboration will offer.
