[h2]Hello Adventurers![/h2] We are pleased to announce the final date and time for the 1.0 version release! - [b]24th September, 15:00 CEST (Or 9am EST, 6am PST, 1pm UTC, 22:00 JST, 21:00 CST).[/b]..+- a few minutes because of technical struggles we might have ;) [b]Over 900 0[/b]00 of you have been playing during Early Access, and for that we are very grateful. We were able to make the game better and bigger than we could have wished for thanks to your support and feedback! But you probably want to know what we are going to add? Fear not, this will be our [b]biggest update to date for Halls of Torment![/b] [list] [*] We will add the final stage in the game: [b]The Vault.[/b] This stage will be a bit special and you might need some coins to enter. The Vault is [b]not limited to thirty minutes[/b] - which means you can take your time or try to get through as fast as you possibly can. [*] [b]The Scriptor can be rescued from the Frozen Depths[/b]. He just needs someone to lighten him up. If you do, not only will he give you an overview over all the collectable items, he’ll also allow you to [b]continuously improve individual character stats[/b] in exchange for Torment Shards. [*] Torment Shards? Yes, you probably already have a handful of them lying around. Never wondered about those fancy crystals the lords are dropping? ;) [*] And why is an item overview helpful? Not necessarily to satisfy greed, but to know all the [b]base items and variants that will be recoverable from the Halls[/b]. Yes, variants, the new Shrine of Torment will enable you to recover ‘uncommon’ tier items. [*] The Shrine of Torment is something we feel many of you have eagerly waited for. We want to put back the Torment into the Halls and make HoT difficult again! The shrine will allow you to [b]customize the game while increasing the difficulty[/b] so much that we are sure you are going to die, sooner or later. [*] For that find the [b]30 artifacts[/b] that the lords hold onto in agony mode. Agony mode will be exclusively accessible through the Shrine of Torment in the future. One of those artifacts will be the ‘[b]Hastening Sands’ that cut off 10 minutes[/b] from the regular runtime of a run. [*] You can activate as many artifacts as you wish. They might spawn additional monsters, set you on fire, reverse your walking direction, or hurt you whenever you collect gold. In return for enduring such torment you may be able to find some [b]new shiny and rare items[/b] that are much stronger than their uncommon counterparts. [*] We are [b]finishing up the achievements[/b] with a whopping set of 500 quests. There might be more quests in the future, if you want, but these 500 will make up all the achievements on Steam for the future. And naturally they unlock a few new things, such as [b]blessings related to critical hits[/b]. [*] [b]Character traits of the 5th rank[/b]: These traits work a bit differently than other character traits and might have a higher impact. You can take only one of those traits for the chosen character (or character mark). [*] Those new traits are unlocked by some extra crunchy quests in which you need to prove your worth… or by the amount of uncommon items and meta upgrades collected. To make it easier to track those quests we have rewritten many of the quests to be properly trackable with the quest tracking system! [*] From 1.0 on you will also have the option to use the full width and height of your screen. For example, [b]when playing with the Steam Deck or on a wide screen[/b]. But be aware, the game experience is optimized for 16:9 and some things might just pop into your screen instead of being magically hidden. [*] Other than that: polish and quality of life, like [b]distance indicators[/b] showing you how far away the next ability scrolls is, an additional view that [b]shows you character and ability stats during trait/ability selection[/b], unlocking additional ability drops on early stages, and more! [*] Under the hood we’ve also worked on [b]performance and stability[/b]. We’ve upgraded to [b]Godot 4.3[/b] in time to bring some additional improvements ([b]Huge shoutout to the Godot community improving the engine and also fixing issues![/b]). We hope we could reduce most of the lag, the crashes, and any other type of problem. But we are always on the lookout for more issue reports :) [/list] Now you have an idea of what to expect.
