We couldn't have done this without those of you reading this right now.
It's been one year since the official release of The Tale of Galariel. It came at the heels of so many other great titles launching into steam (Some of which we collectively played at the time ourselves). The relief we felt when we finally launched a finished game gave us all such a wonderful sense of accomplishment and we all could breath easy for a bit...
Until we decided to do it again.
After four-ish years of a single dev into double devs, into more and more people joining in to help make this game come alive it became apparent that we wanted to keep going. Now sporting twice the size we did on the release of Galariel we continue to try to find new talent to add to our team and make amazing games! Our goal is to never need a publishing company to fund us as long as we exist; and to continue to produce higher and higher quality content.
Everyone in our team volunteers their time to be here and make this happen using everything in their arsenal of skills that they can to cover every edge of the projects we're working on. Now with "G2" on the horizon I'm excited to say that We Didn't Mean 2 be here. But we are. It's going to be a big change. It's going to take a lot of time and people-hours to make what we want a reality.
At the end of this blood soaked tale of rainbows and sprinkles we wanted to, at some point, try our hand at this, "business stuff". Our goal as a development team moving forward from our current structure is to become a proper LLC. We see it, we want it and we're going to go for it. We want to have an office for ourselves to work out of. We want to be a proper game developer. That line of thinking - These goals - have spawned from this game's launch.
We hope we can continue to make you proud. We hope that you find comfort and enjoyment in our games. We are grateful for every breath and every second that our community has given to us.
With much love and appreciation,
We are WDM2
