Fury of Dracula Updates!

Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition

Dracula is ready to take over Europe and only four iconic vampire hunters can stop him, in this digital adaptation of the classic board game of deduction and gothic horror. Play locally with friends or with up to five players online. Will you be the hunter or the hunted?

Hi Hunters! ːsmall_batː Long time no speak! We’ve been crazy busy here at Nomad, which means we’ve been silently lurking in the shadows waiting for the right time to pounce on some unsuspecting [strike]victims[/strike] Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition players. It’s been a while since we chatted about anything, so we’ve got a ton to get you up to speed on!
Where Have We Been?
So the question that we imagine a lot of you are asking is “Where have you been?” or “What have you been working on?” Well, sadly we haven’t been scouring across Europe in an epic real life recreation of Fury of Dracula - even though that would be mighty cool. Nope, instead we’ve been busy working on both our next project as a studio (another digital board game adaptation that we can’t talk about just yet) and also we’ve been doing some contract work to help out our pals at Electric Square on their latest game - Detonation Racing! We’ve got a small team here at Nomad, so our usual cycle for game development and creation means that we use some of our team to work on the next game while the rest of our team stick around to work on/polish up the game we just released. For a number of different reasons (timings lining up right and our workloads) we had the opportunity to help some other games studios with projects they were working on. We’ve now finished that work for other studios, which means while we’re still working on our next secret board game project, we can take some time to come back to Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition.
Upcoming Updates for Fury
We’re hoping to release the next update mighty soon, and right now we’ve got these features planned for future updates:

The ability to spectate online games
The ability to rejoin online games
Adding an "Auto-Consume Rail Ticket" option to the settings menu, which can be toggled off to allow the hunter to choose which rail ticket they discard when moving by rail
A number of improvements to how AI hunters handle trading
A wide range of fixes to bugs
We’re not sure if all of these will be in the next update, as we’re still testing and figuring out what we can safely include without breaking anything - so lots of testing is going to be happening with our internal QA team!
German Language
Back when we first launched Fury of Dracula, we took a look at what languages we wanted to bring the game to once it’d been released. It’s taken longer than expected, but we’re excited to bring the first non-English language to Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition when we roll out the German language option! To celebrate, we bought some German snacks - because the best way to understand a country is by eating snacks, right? If any German fans can tell us how well we've done, we'd appreciate it. Right now, we’ve got a huge spreadsheet that contains all the translated text for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition in German, we just need to actually put it inside the game. We’re hoping that these snacks will give us the energy we need for all that copy-and-pasting!
Open Beta Testing
As part of these upcoming updates, we’re also going to be opening up the beta version of Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition to a wider audience. Previously you needed to be part of the closed beta in order to play newer versions of the game, but we’re welcoming feedback from anyone willing to get involved. We’ve created a discussion on the Steam forums if you’d like to give us feedback, or you can join our Discord and chat directly with us! If you’d like to try out the beta version, you just need to do the following:

Right click Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition in your Steam games library
Go to Properties
Click Betas
Click The Dropdown
Select open-beta - Public Beta

Monthly Nomad Games Mailbag
Last month, we launched the Nomad Games Monthly Mailbag - every month we’re opening ourselves up to questions from the community on anything and everything! You can check out the August Edition of the Mailbag here. And if you’d like to have your questions answered, you can send them over to questions@nomadgames.co.uk - we’ll even give out some Steam keys for the best questions!
Future Plans
So what exactly have we got planned next for Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition beyond these updates and adding German? Well, we’re hoping that we’ll be able to bring the game to even more platforms now that it’s out on both PC and mobile. We’re also planning on adding more house rules to the game, so you can play Fury of Dracula in new ways! As soon as we’ve got more to share on that front, we’ll be sending telegrams to each and every hunter out there.
