A new update to THE DESCENDANT has been released. This update brings new functionality, allowing you to restart the game from previously completed chapters to see how things can turn out differently, and delivers a new episode, progressing the story of Donnie, Randolph, Mia and Silas to just one step away from its epic conclusion. [b][u]NEW FEATURES[/u][/b] [list] [*] Introducing - Chapters. This feature allows you to conveniently ‘rewind’ to sections of a previously completed episode to replay the game from that chapter, and see how events can turn out differently. PLEASE NOTE: this will require you to replay the rest of the episode - or episodes - in order to use this save slot to complete the story. [*] To access this, from the Main Menu go to Save Files > [Pick a save slot] > Replay > [Pick an episode], and you’ll see arrows either side of the central image. Click these arrows to select the chapter you would like to play from. It’s recommended that you only do this on a copied save slot, rather than your main save. [/list] [b][u]FIXES[/u][/b] [list] [*] Solved an issue where for players using Mac, in some resolutions, the Main Menu’s cursor didn’t scale down correctly. [*] Solved a rare issue where, in Episode 3, some players found a scene between Randolph and Donnie (where they speak via CCTV) was not always triggered. [*] Solved an issue where in Episode 1, when Mia asks Silas questions before she goes to the Water Heating Area, the cursor could become invisible. [*] Improved overall stability of the game. [/list] [b][u]KNOWN ISSUES[/u][/b] [list] [*] General, when playing with a controller we strongly recommend playing in full-screen mode as window mode can cause several issues where the input of the controller would not get recognized by the game. [*] Episode 1, Mac only: reloading the 4th chapter using the new chapter functionality will currently result in losing the save file from the selected slot. While we work on a fix, to prevent this, ensure you are not using your main save file, and/or do not quit the game until you have reached the next save point, which is approximately five minutes after the start of Chapter 4. (Mac only) [*] Episode 3, Decontamination Shower puzzle: if played using a game controller, the puzzle begins by displaying the controller’s shoulder buttons for one on-screen element. These are actually controlled using the analogue sticks; while this is explained with an in-game tool-tip, we intend to make this more clear in future. [*] Episode 1, Screenshots for Chapter 02 and 03 are inverted, this will be fixed in the next patch update. [/list]
