Hello, everyone! I'm here to tell you why we used the name "Mata Kucing" for the settlement in this game. The name "Mata Kucing" was taken to promote a zoo in Batam City which is a popular tourist spot. However the name "Mata Kucing" is also taken based on a famous haunted place in Batam City which fits the horror and mystery theme of "Who is He Let Me Out". The literal translation of Mata Kucing is Cat's Eye, but there's a scary story behind it. It was said that the Mata Kucing area was once a dense and lush forest but the people of Temiang (an area nearby Mata Kucing) believed the Mata Kucing Forest was haunted as they thought it was a gathering place for various types of jinns and demons. A tiger who should not be named once lived in the forest, so the people dubbed it "The Cat". One night, a taxi driver passed by and pulled over to relieve himself, but suddenly he saw a pair of glowing red eyes staring at him. As he stared back, The Cat swiftly pounced him, pried out his eyes, and replaced them with cat's eyes. After this incident, the forest was referred to as the "Mata Kucing Forest" Well, I guess that's plenty to tell you about this village's backstory, hehe! is it intriguing enough for you? Yes, I believe so! see you in the next Devlog! Source : http://batamraya.com/menariknya-hutan-wisata-mata-kucing-di-batam/
