In this development update, we want to talk about guns. Not the ones attached to a stout dwarf’s shoulder, but the ones used to enhance a cave through the merciless culling of glyphids.
[h1][b]About the Game[/b][/h1]
Grimstone Survivors is a fast-paced 3D top-down roguelite action game set in a stone universe. Players must survive waves of enemies while collecting materials from defeated foes to craft and upgrade their weapons. The game features automatic firing mechanics, dynamic weapon combinations, and strategic decision-making, encouraging quick and strategic thinking. Our physics-based interactions and dynamic map structures ensure that each playthrough is unique and exhilarating.

[h1][b]Current Development Status and Progress Updates[/b][/h1]
[h2]Physics-Based Gameplay and Dynamic Map Structure[/h2]
Since starting our project in ''June 2024'', we've developed the core gameplay mechanics and completed our first prototype, including the basic weapon crafting system. Our physics engine in ''Unity'' ensures realistic enemy movements, with enemies flinging dynamically during battles.
We're also enhancing the ''dynamic map structure'', allowing players to break or dismantle objects to open or close paths, enabling varied strategies each wave. To improve readability and accessibility, we're simplifying the user interface and adding in-game guides. These aspects will be further improved over time.
So far, we haven't received any feedback from the community as the game hasn't been released yet. We are currently preparing the demo and look forward to engaging with our community soon. Once the demo is released, your feedback will be invaluable in helping us refine and improve the game.

[h2]Puncher ( Pusback Type Fist )[/h2]
Our Puncher is a melee, unarmed weapon that stands out with its ability to hurl enemies into the air. When enemies land, they take additional damage, making the Puncher a formidable tool for crowd control and maximizing damage output during close-quarters combat.

[h2]Laser Gun[/h2]
The Laser Gun is an SMG with elemental properties, offering low but precise and fast firing capabilities. It fires a beam that starts as a large energy blast and narrows over three seconds, dealing high initial damage that decreases to 50% as the beam tightens. This weapon excels in providing consistent damage over time while requiring strategic positioning to maximize its effectiveness before the damage output diminishes.

[h2]Fire Fist (Elemental Melee)[/h2]
The ''Fire Fist'' is a melee, unarmed weapon with elemental properties that brings a burning effect to combat. With each consecutive hit on the same enemy, the Fire Fist builds up heat, igniting the target after the third consecutive strike. This makes it an excellent choice for dealing sustained damage, especially against tougher enemies. Its fast attack speed combined with the burn effect makes it a powerful tool for keeping enemies under pressure while dealing continuous damage over time.

[h2]MiniGun[/h2]
The MiniGun is an SMG known for its rapid-fire capabilities. It fires a high volume of bullets quickly, making it ideal for overwhelming enemies with sheer firepower. However, after firing 100 bullets, it requires a 4.4-second cooldown, and each subsequent hit reduces its damage by 50%. This makes the MiniGun a high-risk, high-reward weapon, perfect for aggressive playstyles that can manage its cooldown periods and maximize its damage output before the damage starts to wane.

We have plenty more weapons in the game already, and a whole truckload from Grimstone Survivors that we haven’t even touched yet. Making them all feel unique, useful, and true to their origins is an exciting challenge, and we can’t wait for you to try some of them soon.

To complement our diverse arsenal, we've introduced various active skills that push players towards unique playstyles, encouraging both close and long-range strategies with varying depths. These skills are designed to enhance gameplay by providing strategic options that cater to different combat scenarios.
[h3]Bullet Potions[/h3]
[b]Description:[/b] When activated, Bullet Potions imbue your ammunition with elemental effects. Each shot carries a different elemental power, such as fire, ice, or electricity, dealing additional damage or debuffs to enemies. This adds a tactical advantage by allowing you to choose the right elemental effect for the right situation, enhancing your overall battlefield control and damage potential.

[b]Blastoise + Magnetude Combo:[/b] These two skills together create a powerful combo. Magnetude pulls enemies in and Blastoise delivers a destructive area-of-effect blast, sending enemies flying while dealing massive damage. Discovering and using these skill combinations will be key to mastering the game.
