[/b]Today, we're diving deep into the heart of the game - its combat system [h2]Drawing Inspiration from Legends[/h2] Inspired by beloved classics like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Nier Automata, and God of War, we've crafted a combat experience that's both thrilling and accessible - we want players to feel like true powerhouses, effortlessly dispatching foes with a blend of skill and style. Our focus on maintaining momentum ensures that each encounter feels visceral and dynamic, enhancing the overall satisfaction of engaging in combat within the game. After mastering the fundamentals, combat in Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients flows seamlessly. [h2]Accessibility with Depth[/h2] One of our primary goals with Monolith's combat system was to make it accessible to newcomers while still offering depth for seasoned gamers. We've achieved this by designing combat to make it easy to keep combos going, swiftly changing from target to target, where you are provided with plenty of offensive and defensive options. Whether you're a newcomer to the genre or a veteran, we think there's something for everyone to enjoy. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44358956/b869a700688c5fbde77d2b73c639ed755dbac653.png[/img] For those of you who want to really explore the combat system, you’ll find you have an awful lot of options to choose from when dispatching your enemy. Different enemies will have different weaknesses - for example, you can use blunt weapons to destroy an enemy's shield or a strong air attack to knock a flying enemy to the ground. If you successfully combine moves together into a combo, you will get the opportunity to perform a Runic Finisher, a powerful attack which will change depending on your equipped weapon. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44358956/0a9a04c302ce42ad63b0c7ee6fa09823f92fc12a.png[/img] Runic constructs provide an extra layer of personalization and strategy, these are abilities that you equip and enter a cooldown when used. You can summon companions, decoys, shields and even powerful AOE attacks! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44358956/5bfaa60f06ffa7b6a1062313c80749726cfdb686.png[/img] Our combat system is all about providing choices for the players and allowing them to experience the fight as they wish. New players will stick to the basics, but experienced players will have the tools to express themselves and dispatch enemies in a deadly and efficient dance of slashes, crushes, blasts and summons. [h2]Weapons and Abilities[/h2] The default weapon - a sword, is acquired very early on in the tutorial. As the game progresses you’ll collect resources that allow you to unlock skills, including combos and finishers. [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44358956/8bcbe31bd06d2cec6f01a90bd6871ed87a96207c.png[/img] Throughout the game, you’ll discover three more types of weapons: a pair of Gauntlets, a Spear, a Hammer and a ranged attack. You’ll also unlock a power summon skill called constructs which will allow you to bring forth tornados, minions, robots and more as you progress through the game. Both weapon attacks and ranged attacks will have light, heavy and charged attacks, which, when combined, can form powerful combos. These combos will allow you to activate Runic Finishers. [h2]Epic Boss Battles[/h2] Let’s be real here, what would a game like this be without epic boss battles? In Monolith, you will face off against 10 formidable bosses, each with their own distinct abilities and combat styles. These encounters will test your skills like never before, requiring quick reflexes, strategic thinking, and mastery of your chosen weapons and abilities. Players can also tackle a series of special challenges accessed through portals scattered throughout the game world. From facing waves of minions to rematches with bosses, these challenges offer additional opportunities for players to hone their combat prowess and earn valuable rewards. And for those looking for an extra challenge we offer a hard difficulty level and a ‘new game +’ feature.
