Dev Log: Procedurally Generated Worlds & Improved Mechanics

Hey Polli Pack! It's been a really wild month-or-so for Kokopa's Atlas! As we mentioned in the last post, April was the first month of full-time development on KA for us here at AeLa. We've been continuing to rework core parts of the game from the ground up and we've got a few cool updates to show for it. Before I dig into that though I've got some housekeeping: from now on we'll be posting these updates both on [url=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hypermegapixel/kokopas-atlas-discover-new-beginnings-and-grand-adventure]Kickstarter[/url] and on our Steam page (hello, Steam readers!). Feel free to follow along either here or there. It doesn't make much of a difference to us! 😄 Let's get to the good stuff! On top of the improvements we've been hard at work on, we're adding some new elements to the world including [b]new resources to collect and new ways to collect them![/b] [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40714570/1f2e16d8372bed832abb3557619db96aaa3079c2.gif[/img] [i]I wonder what resources Kokopa will be able to mine and what they could be used for…[/i] Since our last update we've also been wrapping up our work on the improved Kokopa controller, including (drumroll please…) Jumping!! [img]{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40714570/785b05fa292aab5795a3114987a9e0e78b7bb786.gif[/img] Our vision for Kokopa's Atlas focuses heavily on exploration and adventure, and we want that exploration to be smooth and seamless whether you want to take it fast or slow. For those of you who've played the original demo, we also fixed that occasional bug where Kokopa falls through the ground. 😅 Speaking of exploration, we've been retooling some of the navigation systems including the scanner, compass bar, and a [b]new world map[/b] to help you get your bearings! We're happy to announce that the next demo will include a [b]fully procedurally generated world![/b] In June, each of you will have your own unique world to get lost in. Please bear with us as we get the generated world up to speed with the level of detail of the original demo. We promise it will be worth the wait!
