Hey there, Atlasers! 😄
With the holidays rapidly approaching, it sure is a chaotic time of year! Here’s what we can share about what we’ve been up to since November’s update:
Probably the most exciting thing: we’ve added side quests!

On top of the main quest line (which we talked a bit about in November), there will now be side quests from the other folks you meet. This could include getting them things from the nearby forest, doing a bit of gardening for them, and more!
Specifically, in implementing side quests, we ran into a few major development issues that slowed us down. So we spent quite a bit of time trying to iron those out (and it’s still not quite over!).
We’ve also made some performance improvements.

The newest biome, the forest, has foliage that’s a lot more dense than the grasslands… and we needed to do some optimization so the game would run smoothly with so many objects in the world.
Aside from those, it’s largely been about bug hunting!

The end of the year is a busy time and many teams have deadlines to meet before the holidays… we’re no different in that regard. We’ve got goals to meet, and part of those goals means polishing as many rough edges as we can before we set things aside for the year. Perhaps not as exciting to read about, but SO important to how the game feels.
Things will be pretty quiet around the Kokopa’s Atlas Discord over the holidays, more than likely, but you’re always welcome to join! And it’d be giving our team a real gift if you wishlist the game on Steam (presuming you haven’t already).
From all the folks working on Kokopa’s: we’re wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season, however you celebrate! ❄️🎁
See you in January! 👋
