Corrupted Runes have entered the Whiskers and Wizardry demo!

Today the demo version 0.5.0.0 is out - and it's a good one! I've had a lot of feedback from testers this past week and two of the major points were:

The demo is a bit too easy, which means there's an issue with experiencing the power progression fully because everything dies too easy, and also it means you'll play for less time.
The core gameplay of the spell crafting rune system and the feline power ups, seems really awesome and we want to lean as much into it as possible.
On top of that they found some bugs that needs to get fixed. These are the areas I've tried to improve upon in version 0.5.0.0, which led to the following patch notes:

Added rarity to runes (Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary). Only Common and Rare runes are dropped without Corruption (See below).
Added a Corrupted Rune system to the core spell crafting system.

Corrupted runes are either of Epic or Legendary rarity, but they are corrupted, meaning their powers cannot be used right away.
To cleanse the corruption, you must wear the corrupted rune through a certain amount of sections.
While the rune is equipped it fills a slot and it gives a buff to the enemies in the section.
The "Corruption Power" determines the amount of sections you have to have this disadvantage before being able to cleanse the rune:

The Corruption Power tokens are reduced by 1 per slot rank you place the rune in.
For instance if the rune has 5 Corruption Power, you could either go through 5 sections with it equipped in a rank 1 slot, 3 sections with it equipped in a rank 2 slot or 2 secions with it equipped in a rank 3 slot.

After cleansing you get a new powerful epic or legendary rune.
The most powerful of the existing runes are moved into the Epic category. This means that they are harder to obtain and should give players and extra challenge, raising the difficulty of the game as requested.

Added a new Enemy Power, called Ambush, which makes enemies spawn much faster.
Fixed UI bugs related to certain resolutions
Adjusted damage and effects done by different runes. Magic bolt, Arcane Volley and Arcane Nova all had a decrease in damage. Poisonous Impact, Deadly Dash and Retribution had an increase in damage. Speedster had an increase in % chance to reset the sequence cooldown.
Adjusted the transparency for the area-markings of where attacks are landing, to have less visual clutter. This might need more adjustment, but it's an improvement from previously.
Added prompts to make players confirm upgrades.
Increased the damage done by Living Bomb (from the "Fire Mastery" Feline Power).
Hope that you'll enjoy the newest demo version! Happy gaming, - Mathias Zillo Zillo Games
