Community Update + Patch Notes v1578

Galaxy in Turmoil

Galaxy in Turmoil's conceptual Early Access game is a FREE multiplayer combined-arms game set in a brand-new universe, created by a team of volunteers. It’s all about endless arms races, corporate espionage, and, most of all, blasting up on the enemy faction and taking their stuff.

Patch Notes for v1578 Hey there GiT community! I hope you had a KILLER Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Whatever it is you celebrate! Every year people ask me what I want for Christmas. Normally I reply; “my two front teeth“, but this Christmas I asked asked for something special. Our Kickstarter is now live! Even though the Holidays are just about over – If you’re still in the giving spirit, be sure to check it out and back us! <3 Before I get into the patch notes for v1578, I wanted to take the moment to address the elephant in the room: Server population. As you may (or may not) know, we’ve had a drastic issue with server population. It’s practically non-existent. When we launched the demo, we fully expected tons of players to roll through the door – they didn’t. We scratched our heads, pulled out our hair, and then we figured out why! As you know, we’ve released the DEMO on Steam. The issue, however, is that when the demo was released, the over 100,000+ people who have GiT on their wishlist didn’t get a notification. That’s right! It seems even though hundreds of thousands of people have GiT on their wishlists, they won’t receive notifications of demo launches unless the demo is also on their wishlist. As such, we’ve been receiving tons of emails and DM’s asking when the demo will drop, even though it already has. In order to rememedy this, we’re working with Valve to re-release the demo as Early-Access, in order to get that golden ticket (read: marketing email) sent to the over 100,000+ people who have been waiting for the demo to drop! With that being said – lets talk about this latest patch! For this update, we’ve really worked hard on fixing a lot of the issues that arose with the initial launch of the demo. We’ve also listened to the community feedback and done our best to address one big issue. Our very own Christmas elf, Vorixo, worked his little elf fingers to the bone on Christmas Day and created a basic AI system to help with server population as people continue to learn about GiT. So our belated gift to all of you – bots! Three modes now have bots on them by default. We’re currently working to add an option to enable or disabled bots in the server settings screen, but that is not in this current patch. Bots are now added in by default on the following modes: TDM Domination Siege (Bowels Map) We’re hoping to add the bots to other gamemodes – but for now, Domination,TDM and Siege (Bowels map) are the only gameodes that have the bots enabled. There are a slew of other updates and fixes that we’ve deployed in this patch, so be sure to read on and then hop on GiT and check them out! One final note – we’re going to be coordinating some in-game community events in the coming week(s) so keep an eye on the News channel on our Discord server.
