Happy Friday, friends!
Just a few more sleeps, then it's finally time: After about five years of development, Paper Cut Mansion will release on October 27. WOOHOO! Unbelievable, but true. And for us as a small team consisting of 3 developers, this is a really big success, and a matter of the heart. I can tell you that!

The NeoCortex dimension, filled with challenges, logic puzzles and collectibles
But what kind of a game is Paper Cut Mansion? And how does it work? I know it of course, but let me take a quick look on our lovely Steam page real quick. So, it's a "papercraft roguelite". You get in the paper shoes of police detective Toby Caputo and you players explore the namesake mysterious mansion floor by floor.
As Toby you enter the mansion for the very first time. It consists of several floors that you must explore, investigate, survive, and make your way through - deeper and deeper, always towards the mystery. And as befits a roguelite, you won't make it on the first try. Or on the second. Or even on the third. But that's not our fault, because that's how roguelites work.

The Reptilian Complex dimension is overrun with monsters - so raise your weapons!
And run by run you will define your very own playstyle as you unlock new abilities and discover new equipment that will give you a better chance to overcome the challenges each (procedurally generated) run throws at you. You will find a bunch of new items (various weapons, skills and armors) that offer further customisation, allowing for truly unique set ups. Do you want to get in close with a Katana or take shots from afar as a skilled marksman? Then do it!
Speaking of the floors: The mansion itself has a dimension-hopping twist. Each floor has a different theme and contains portals that lead you to alternate versions of the same location. Each dimension switches up the aesthetics, and with it the gameplay. Your run always start in the NeoCortex dimension, which plays out like an escape room, filled with challenges, logic puzzles and a lot of collectibles.

The Limbic System dimension is a merciless cold place full of hidden items and secrets
From there, you will receive quests that take you into the Reptilian Complex and the Limbic System Dimensions. In the Reptilian Complex, the mansion takes on a fiery silent-hilly appearance as it is overrun with monsters (Raise your weapons!). The Limbic system sees an icy chill overtake the mansion. You’ll need to move quickly and stay near heat sources as the merciless cold damages Toby on his search for hidden items and secrets.

Before every run you can equip Toby with the gear and weapons you find in earlier runs
Btw. there are decisions to make throughout your run that subtly affecting the final outcome - with 27 different possible endings wrapping up the mystery of Paper Cut Mansion.
Until next week, friends - stay safe & stay tuned!
