In The King's Campaign there are a near endless variety of battle locations, with over 350 cities that you can defend or siege, countless battlefields between cities and even ship-to-ship combat
We achieved this through a combination of level design and procedural generation
Large Cities
There are 6 large city designs, each with European and North African variants
These are used for major cities like Paris and Fez
Small Cities
There are 20 small city designs (each with 5 levels of advancement), placed in procedurally generated surroundings with variation through:
- environs/biome (e.g. desert, oak forest)
- wall set used
- wall progression
- orientation of city
- position of city and enemy camps
Battlefields
There are also battles outside of cities, where armies can encounter each other in the field
These are procedurally generated with different environments/biomes
Ship-to-Ship
At sea, when ships transporting armies clash, the units cross on gangplanks to attack each other
Of course, mounts and siege equipment remain below decks

Overall, in The King's Campaign you should never be short of somewhere new to battle
