Ashes of Kanaka is a story of humanity’s struggle to survive. After Earth has been completely destroyed by over harvesting and an unchecked population growth, we looked to the stars to find a new home.
Hello everyone! I am happy to announce that we are AHEAD of schedule, and have the full content update as promised. Below is the full list of new features and content, as well as what we are planning to bring to Ashes in the future. This will be live today as soon as it is done uploading.
Caveman Zug - The caveman you meet in Norda Morlone is now a companion, you can find him by the waterfall in Kushmala once you've done both quests related to his history. He explains a bit more as to how he arrived on Kanaka, and should hopefully fill in some blanks for those who have completed the game already. He has a dialogue across the entire game just like the other companions.
Recommended Levels - Most dungeons now inform you what the recommended level for each is, so you know what you're getting into.
OASE Crypts - The OASE Crypts have been slightly changed. There is far less combat, and key cards are not needed for many doors that required them before. We want this area to be more about discovery and exploration, we hope we have achieved that.
New Game + - For those of you have completed the true ending for Ashes, the quest completion to unlock it will carry over to your future play throughs, so you won't have to do the quest every time you want the true ending. We are doing this for our future plans which I will outline at the end.
Small bug fixes - Minor quality of life improvements and Victor will now properly carry over to your New Game + files.
While we have received feedback that people enjoyed the true ending, we want to give you more reason to continue to play Ashes of Kanaka.
Over the summer, we plan to release more new content, free of charge, that will add new areas as well as new hub that will become available once you get the true ending. You will have the options to either take that save to new game +, or if you want to continue to the new content. I'm looking forward to sharing more when we get back from E3, and as always, please let us know if there are any problems.
