Whilst this fix worked for most players, it also introduced a new issue which stopped a small subsection of Steam users from being able to open Sniper Elite 5. We’re working hard to try and rectify this problem for our users, but we need more time to verify the fix before rolling out a patch. Meaning that it will not arrive before the weekend. However, to get as many of our impacted Steam users operating as normal this weekend, we’d like to provide the option of a separate Early Access beta branch. It goes without saying, the priority is and will always be our Community, and we’re incredibly sorry that finding a permanent fix for both the patch size issue and this Steam issue is taking longer than we would have hoped. [h2][b]How do I get back to playing?[/b][/h2] To get players back into Sniper Elite 5, we have created a beta branch. This beta contains an initial fix for the launch problem, and should mean you can get back to playing. [h2][b]How do I access the beta?[/b][/h2] Please note that this guide demonstrates from beginning to end how to access, download and open the beta. If you are familiar with beta branches and just want the password, please skip to step 5. [b]To access the beta, please follow these instructions:[/b] [olist] [*] Open your Game Library on Steam. [*] Right-click on Sniper Elite 5. [*] Select Properties from the menu. [*] In the Properties menu, select 'Betas' from the left-hand panel. [*] In the box under 'Enter beta access code...', type the following: steamcommunity [*] Click 'Check Code'. [*] A box will appear with the words 'Opt into: early access' will appear. Please click this. [*] Steam will then begin downloading the beta. The name of the beta 'earlyaccess' will appear in square brackets next to Sniper Elite 5 in your library list. [*] Once the beta has downloaded, launch the game as you usually would. To do this: Browse to C:\Users\[YOUR USER NAME HERE]\AppData\Local\Sniper Elite 5\PC_ProfileSaves Copy all of the files in that folder. Paste them to an easily accessible location like your desktop. This is to test features (or a new game) and gather responses. In this case, this Sniper Elite 5 beta includes a fix to the problem some users have had launching via Steam. [b]Will cross-play be enabled or can I play with people on other platforms?[/b] Yes, the cross platform play will be the same experience in the beta as it is usually is in Sniper Elite 5.
