The World of the Dead is an immersive zombie FPS game that combines first-person shooter and extraction PvPvE genres. In a world of walking corpses and deformed monsters, you'll have to forge your own path to survival while keeping an eye for new firearms and equipment.
Hello Survivors,
This is Vision Studio, the development team behind World of the dead.
First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of you who love and support us, Wonder People, and our previous project, Super People. We want to thank you for your continued passionate interest and love, which act as powerful catalysts for us to keep moving forward.
We fully recognise that many in the community still hold strong affection and fond memories of Super People. We believe that all the reviews- whether positive or negative- and the excitement around World of the dead wouldn’t have been possible if the community’s fiery passion for Super People had already faded. We continue to feel a sense of guilt for letting our fans down by ultimately terminating the service of Super People.
To be truthful, Super People was a large-scale project, with a development investment of approximately 60 Million USD and around 200 developers. Despite our initial passion, we faced numerous unforeseen challenges early on, including issues with cheating and a flawed business model. These problems left us unable to cover server costs and various operational expenses, and we even struggled to pay our staff on time.
In the end, only a small group of five passionate staff members remained, working tirelessly to maintain in-game balance while keeping the service running at the same time. Unfortunately, as the playerbase gradually declined and matchmaking became unfeasible, our team had no choice but to shut down the project.
Even in such dire circumstances, we could not let go of Super People, therefore we started working on World of the dead, a new variation mode stemming from the original Super People project, in hopes of reviving our beloved project.
Fortunately, after series of internal tests of the prototype version of World of the dead, the positive feedback spread quickly, and over time, more and more developers returned to join the team. As a result, what was once a small group of five has now grown to a team of 30, and the number is still growing.
We acknowledge that many of our fans have suggested that it would be wise for us to just ditch the new project and bring Super People 1 back to life. While we wanted to listen to these valuable voices, we were very hesitant to reopen Super People 1 due to the financial struggles we faced during that time- the traumatising time when we failed to pay our staff on time, and struggled to cover operational costs.
To us, World of the dead is more than just a new project built on Super People’s IP and resources; it is a spin-off rooted in the same Super People universe, designed to offer a short but intense shooting experience.
In the game’s lore, much like the fall of Super People project, the story begins with a catastrophic experiment on Orb Island where a particle accelerator opens a portal to another dimension. Demons, zombies, and beasts invade the island, leading to the destruction of the world. Survivors who have lost their special powers must now find means to procure weapons to defend themselves, grow stronger, and defeat the EndBringer to rejuvenate the world. This lore mirrors our past journey-- just five of us remaining after the fall of Super People, still dreaming of its comeback.
Our entire team is working hard to ensure the success of World of the dead, and our core goal is to provide an opportunity for our fans to once again experience the fun side of Super People.
We would like to hereby make a bold announcement that we are aiming to launch Super People 1 in the first half of next year. However, this can only be achieved with the necessary additional funding and additional developers. Your ongoing support for World of the dead would be very crucial in making this happen, and we promise to keep communicating and sharing updates with our fans on our progress towards bringing Super People 1 back to life.
Please continue to follow us on this journey, and we greatly appreciate your support and encouragement.
Thank you.
