Abridged Branch:
We released our 1.1.3 Hotfix earlier today, however, this is a dedicated news post to our Abridged Branch! In 1.1.2, we released the optional Abridged Branch, which players can opt-in and out of at any time through the game's beta tab!
Changes in the Abridged Branch:

Removal of most readable in-game notes.

Dialogue does not change per instance, with the exception of intros. Dialogue has been hand-picked to best serve the game's mystery.

Cassandra Noble's padlock combination clues have been changed from clues within notes to visual clues within the environment.

One of my major concerns when writing for The Sorrowvirus was whether or not I would ever get another opportunity to make further games within the Faceless universe. I was already writing a book on Faceless. This led me to cram too much into one short story, when I should've kept it relatively streamlined in terms of its narrative. The Abridged Branch does just that.
For players who wish to experience more of a mystery, the Abridged Branch is for you.
As listed above, with the Abridged Branch, dialogue will not change per instance, aside from the intro dialogue, and the number of notes will be reduced. This allows players to see hints of the story, rather than be subjected to a massive dose of unwanted and unrelated exposition which belongs in other Faceless-related Short Stories or its books.
Unobtainable Achievement:
Please note, obtaining the Art Of Sorrow achievement is not possible in the Abridged Branch.
Unlocalised Elements:
Also, additional in-game environment-based text has been added into the Abridged Branch to substitute for notes, these texts are only available in English and cannot be localised.
Final Thoughts:
I'm pleased to have been able to make the Abridged Branch a reality, it still adheres to the game's canon, but takes away from the padding included to help the game be more replayable with each instance. For those of you who would like to see all the game has to offer and as much story as possible, I would recommend that you stick with the original branch!
