Command: Northern Inferno is a stand-alone game that uses the latest version of the Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations (CMANO) engine. Do you have what it takes to stand up to Soviet/WP forces and avert Armageddon?
As some of you are facing issues with the license checks for Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations and Command: Northern Inferno, we have created a beta patch that we hope may fix the issues.
We’re not sure why it is happening but we swapped the order 2 lines of code are executed and we think this may help. It might sounds silly but we suspect this order is what’s causing the issue but as we can’t repeat it here we can’t be sure and need your help to validate it.
We need as many people as possible to try this patch. Even if the game was working before, we need to know it’s still working! It works fine for us, but it did before too so we can’t validate its fixed.
To get the beta patch follow these instructions. It’s very simple to do so don’t worry if you are not technical! Here are step by step instructions.
- Go to your steam games library in the steam client
- Right click on the game - Command (NI or CMANO, whichever you use) and select properties
Note the tabs across the top – select the beta tab
- From the drop down list of betas select the "Beta"
This will queue the beta update (its very small only a few MB so will be quick once it starts)
In your game library the name of the game will have (Public Beta) appended to it to show you have the beta version.
If the download does not start you may have to exit steam and reload it to force it.
You can also sometimes force it by going to the list of downloads and forcing the update to apply.
Whenever you want to opt out of the beta follow the instructions above, and from the drop down list just select None – opt out of betas.
Please let us know if this beta patch fixes your issues and we will make it public. If your problems are not addressed, please let us know (in as much detail as possible!) what error messages you are getting and what you were trying to do at this point.
We are sorry for the issues introduced with this patch and we are dedicated to bringing a fix to everyone who is experiencing the licensing issues.
Thanks for your help in resolving this – we really appreciate it!
