Additional content

This is a DLC for Spellbook Demonslayers.
This is a very early demo preview pf the UPCOMING APOCALYPSE UPDATE!
SPELLBOOK DEMONSLAYERS is a new type of Score Chasing Action Roguelike that seamlessly blends automatic and manual controls! You get to focus on the coolest parts of combat, while Skye and the many spirits inside their body handle the basics for you.

  • Eat enemy corpses to steal their power!
  • Enemies have FRIENDLY FIRE: They hurt each other, and their projectiles deflect each other.
  • Equip a mixture of automatic and manually activated spells.
  • Auto-Attack with Weapons to get Mana for your manual spells.
  • Fun mechanics like wall slams, elemental chain-reactions, and a Style Meter!

ELEMENTAL REACTIONS interact with FRIENDLY FIRE! For example:

This enemy pulls you to them with POWER SUCK, but a MAGMA MINE exploded inside of the suck-zone! The enemy will suck up the Magma Puddle, causing a FLAME TORNADO that damages themselves and anyone in the fire.

  • Each difficulty is hand-crafted with new enemy behaviors and game mechanics.
  • Enemy friendly fire means that the threat of advanced enemies comes with the natural reward of them hitting each other more. This also helps you get a higher score.
  • Designed with a swingy push-and-pull philosophy. Everything that makes the game harder can be turned to your advantage, but getting that advantage requires high-risk play.

Spellbook Demonslayers lets you play as casually or as hardcore as you want. While the core controls let you play mostly passively, the active controls and interactive mechanics like Wall Slams / Corpses have a LOT of advanced tech that you can discover through experimentation.

If you enjoy technical action games like Devil May Cry, Nioh 2, or Kingdom Hearts 2 then you will find a lot of familiar ways to create expressive combos that involve multiple systems reacting to each other, where there is no predefined strongest combo or best playstyle.

The Full Game Will Include:

  • More Weapons, each with their own unique mechanical progression and variants.
  • New things to do during each run, and new challenges to take on. Runs remain short, but give you new ways to approach them.
  • More enemies, locations, music, and characters
  • Weather System will be enabled.
  • More Neural Clusters (The skill trees you customize on level up with sockets and randomized special passives).
  • More Spellbooks, each with their own Neural Cluster.
  • And much more in future updates after that!

This is still a very early demo. The cooking has only just begun, and the final version will be SO much better, with far fewer blindspots in the game design.
