Sea of Legends

Sea of Legends is an open-world top-down isometric tactical RPG bursting with mischief and mayhem, set in the 17th-century Caribbean. Become a pirate on the open waters, plunder ships, sack towns, fight the undead, and maybe break a few hearts!

Take the open systems-driven world of Sid Meiers’ Pirates with the tactics of Shadowrun and Slay the Spire’s deck-building mechanics.

Jordan Weisman, the visionary behind Shadowrun, MechWarrior, and Crimson Skies, invites you to chart your destiny in Sea of Legends, the deck-building RPG. Plunder ships, forge alliances, betray foes, and seek your fortune in a fantasy Caribbean teeming with adventure, treachery, magic, monsters, romance, and untold riches! The seas and shores await... if you dare to claim them!

Gameplay

Every choice shapes your story and strategy, creating a dynamic deck-building experience where your cards evolve with your pirate’s legend. The core remains familiar: adding powerful cards, culling weaker ones, and refining your deck to ensure maximum tactical versatility.

You, Your Crew, and Your Deck

Each decision builds your pirate’s legend, shaping your Battle Deck. Improve your abilities & crew to add powerful cards, remove weaker ones, and refine your strategy.

To upgrade or change a crew member's abilities, you may need to help them on a personal quest, such as avenging a lost love or lifting a curse.

Become the Scourge of the Seas

As you sail through this living world, ships go about their own business conducting trade between ports and waging war between nations. You are seeking ships rich in cargo and poor in defenses to board and plunder. Will you choose to take cargo ships, or work to discover the secret route of the Spanish Black Ships laden with gold? Of course there are other pirates on the hunt as well, but who says you can’t steal from them what they stole from others!

Engage in Boarding Actions!

The grappling lines are thrown, the ships slam together, and your selected crew charges across into deadly combat with a song in their hearts, or at least an Arrrgh in their throats’! Lead them to victory using tactical maneuvering and your Battle Deck, a set of cards representing your captain and crew's abilities—to decide the outcome. Victory comes through cunning use of energy, tactical movement, and your captains and crew’s skills.

Visit Ports & Taverns

Dock at friendly ports to sell your plunder, purchase supplies, repair or upgrade your ship, hire crew, and collect rumors about rich ships to prey upon. If you've gained notoriety you may just be welcomed at the Governor’s mansion to help the Crown’s agenda.

Ally With Any Faction

Each "political' faction can be interacted with. Either violently, peacefully, or romantically. One such faction is the Dread Tide. The English, the French or the Spanish may ally with these unholy creatures in the foolish belief that they can use their power against their enemies. But you may choose to ally with them as well, or even to romance them to gain their support!

Plunder Ancient Temples

Find treasure in the sacred temples of the Children of Tlaloc, an ancient and powerful race of Merfolk. Solve light puzzles to plunder their treasure and gain powerful relics to use in your journey to pirate king!
