Pogo Rage: The Awakening

Something special we created to connect the virtual to the real world. There is a game, and there is no game. It is a game, it is not a game.

Something special we created to connect the virtual to the real world. There is a game, and there is no game. It is a game, it is not a game.

From the home of "The Pogo Rage Challenge":

This is not an ordinary game, rather it was made for a specific purpose:
To seek out worthy individuals with enough discipline to not only finish our game but to also attempt the task that follows its completion.

We needed to provoke true agony
- The mechanics
- The levels and their modifiers
- Jumps that are altered by player framerate
And many other carefully designed surprises.

Upon finishing, your reward is an enigma of its own, the beginning of something extraordinary acquired from a third party. Unlike anything else ever done before, it serves as the purpose to finish. We are eager to see what the victors will do with it.

Gameplay

A nail-biting platformer where the stakes only get higher
- Every jump and fall is saved automatically
- The higher you are, the greater the risk and punishment of a fall
- Gameplay that changes dynamically with new obstacles, themes, and modifiers with every level you reach.
- Each jump filled with anxiety accumulated from hours of work and every fall with anger
- Depending on the level, gauging how far your character will jump can change.

Getting Around
You will jump with your clumsy pogo stick again and again, but each time you become skillful in your movement, a new challenge will emerge. Jumping is your only form of getting around. The framerate you play at does not necessarily change game mechanics though it does change how you are able to calculate and time your jumps heavily.

Time Your Jumps
Many jumps require precision timing. Charging your jump not only changes your jump's power but also its arc based on a semi-linear curve. Learning this curve perfectly is near impossible.

Be Thoughtful
Some levels do not require you to follow a specific path to complete while others do. Attempting to skip a jump may allow you to bypass a lot of hardship.. or send you all the way back to the bottom.

Level Design
While you do move sideways, the general direction you travel is upwards. At most points, the farthest you can fall is back to the start of the level. In some places.. much further. Once you jump, there is no changing your trajectory until you land.

Environment

Discover all of the special areas in the interactable world around you

- Level based themes such as rain, snow, darkness, cloud walking
- 3D background art and detailed atmospheres
- Ambient music in 3 levels and ambient environmental sounds everywhere
- Animated particle effects and character effects.

This is a long journey that starts with just a single leap.
The game will take many many hours to complete. Good Luck.
