Last Words is a game of social deception. As a time traveler on a budget, when your improvised time machine malfunctions and you’re taken prisoner in an unknown era, you must work with another traveler to escape. Will you get home faster by working together, or through betrayal…?

Last Words is a game of social deception based on the Prisoner’s Dilemma philosophical theory. Are two individuals more likely to work together, or betray the other to make things better for themselves? Stuck in the past (or is it the future?) after your time machine inevitably breaks, you must work together with your fellow imprisoned time traveler to get out. You’ll both profit if you make it out together. But…

What if you betrayed them and seized the loot all for yourself along with a new ride home stranding them? After all, your goal is to amass a collection, not help rival explorers make a greater name for themselves. On the other hand, what if they are preparing to do the exact same thing to you? Can you afford to risk your own survival and a potential partnership?

  • Work together with the other stuck in time prisoner to escape this predicament.

  • Unlock perks, consumables, and tricks to synergize on both of your escape plans.

  • Trust in your sudden ally, prepare for his sudden, but inevitable betrayal, or plot their downfall first before they can even consider it.

  • Put the spoils of time travel collecting to use by changing your explorer’s appearance and personal hideout.

  • Flaunt your achievements and shiny accolades, but don’t get too cocky or they might be tempted to try and steal it for themselves.

  • Earn active perks and use them against your foes to protect yourself or undo them!

  • Learn to weave convincing arguments out of half-truths, outright lies, or honesty.

  • Coordinate your words with your actions to walk away from the table triumphantly.
